Should have gone for a used five series
We bought this car November of last year. It was a decision between G35x or TL type S. Pricing on both were pretty much the same although Acura dealers would not negotiate Type S prices since 08 was the last year for them Infinity, for around the same price, offers much more such as all wheel drive and extra horse power, 307 stock versus 273 for type S. Additionally the Acura TL feels too much like a accord (We have one). For us, one of the nice features was that the rear doors open at 90 degree angle; this was part of the deciding factor since we just had a baby and it?s easier to put the car seat. Overall, in my opinion, you get a better handling, style and value with the G35x when compared to Honda. Some of the things that Infiniti can improve in this car are cabin noise reduction, ride comfort and materials used for interior (too plastic). We really like this car but in retrospect we would have been better off going with a used BMW five series which would have cost around the same without the all wheel drive.

Recent purchase
I was recently looking for my Acura TL replacement and this vehicle wasn't even on my list of cars. I was set on a BMW 335, one day i decided to test drive the G35xS and pretty much got one the same night. With the rebates i decided to get the G35 instead of G37. I also like the old 5 speed transmission better over the new 7 speed. So far i love the car and it is the best purchase I have made, it definitely is not a BMW 335. BMW is a little faster and handles better, but if you live in a big city like I do you wont need the extra power or handling ability, so save yourself extra 8k and you will not regret your purchase.

Incredible Automobile
This car is truly amazing. From the moment you get in and hit the accelerator, you just feel a rush unlike any of the other cars in its class. The acceleration is incredible and it handles well at higher speeds. The handling is superb as well. And, as with all Infiniti's there is an endless supply of gadgets to play with. While the back seat is not huge, the car can comfortably seat four. The only con I can think of is that the ride is a tad firm, but something one gets used to, and comes to enjoy. Overall, an incredible car

Great value for the money
The G35 offers a great amount of value for your money. Performance is stunning. It is comfortable overall, but the suspension is a little stiff. Interior design is a bit sparse. It is a sports sedan more than a luxury family car. Fuel economy is low, and the insurance premiums are high. Other than that, it is a wonderful car.

Very good car
This is really a great car, the performance is amazing. Couple of things you need to think about before you buy; trunk is pretty small, front seat cup holders will not hold two drinks at the same time and I am not crazy about the radia, CD display area w/o GPS system. This are really minor but things you should be aware of only. The look, horsepower and handling are just great and really make up for these minor issue.

Excellent driving experience
Luxury and exhilaration piled onto reliability! Classic Infiniti. Don't buy anything in this class until you have driven one of these! Better yet..just go drive one because the GX35 will set the standard!

Worse car I have ever owned!
I have a 2005 Infiniti G35 that I bought new. Originally I liked the look, feel, & features of the car. Within a couple of months of owning the car, I ran over a pot hole and warped a rim. I have had problems with the tires loosing pressure even though I had it repaired. Also my keyless entry gives me trouble constantly working at random. But the worst is the value! I did not trade another vehicle; so there was no negative equity. I have paid what I consider a high payment for a full 3 years and am over $5,000 upside down. I can't get rid of the car no matter what I do. I hate this car and wouldn't recommend to anyone!

Hottest car on the road...
I just purchased a G35s after researching all the cars in the class.... Drive one and you'll see its a way better choice than the BMW 3 series.. More power, less money. Better looking too, imo. The only drawbacks I can mention are the trunk space and the interior isn't as well designed as it could be. It looks amazing, but there isn't very much room to put things, like your cell phone. (even though it connects to the speakers via bluetooth) Writing this review makes me want to go for a drive right now.

Not as good as the 2004 G35x engine
Don't get me wrong - I love this car and this is the second one I've had. I first had a 2004 and now a 2008 G35x. The improvements in the car's interior quality and toys are tremendous. The exterior changes are nice too, even though I really loved the unique body style and headlight shape on the original G35. One thing I have been disappointed in is the newer engine's acceleration. The older engine had that awesome neck-snapping power from a dead stop. The new engine, even though it packs more horses overall (300+ vs 280, I think), does not seem to have that same juice from the get-go. Passing others on the highway once you're already in 3rd or 4th gear is still sweet, but I miss that intial burst of power. A nice thing about the all wheel drive is that it seems much smoother and less of a restraint on the engine than in the previous model. Love this car, but miss the quick acceleration. They also, of course, jacked up the price on the newer model, which is annoying. May have to find something with a little more zip next time.
