Fun, comfortable, good handling 4 door 240SX

Car has 230,000 miles, original engine and trans, appears to be all original. Only thing not working is the power antenna is stuck up and the CD changer in the trunk does not work. Thing takes corners great even with non performance high sidewall 16 inch tires. Its not a Vette killer but it has good power. Could use deeper gears for more low end acceleration, but has good passing power on the highway. Basically a big 4 door version of the 240SX which the Q45 suspension is basically based on. Seats may be a little stiff if you are used to Cadillacs, but they are still good for long distance driving. Trunk is big, engine appears like it is easy to work on, roomy engine bay. Not a huge amount of electronic stuff or can-bus type stuff to go bad. It is the top model Nissan in Japan renamed for the non Japanese markets. More reliable than a Mercedes or BMW of the same years. No CVT either, Nissan hadnt started using that garbage transmission in many cars yet in 1996. 96 was the last year of that generation. It had the 4.5 liter V8, went to a 4.1 liter in 97.

Great Car

Purchased used in 2004 with 53K miles for $8000--always wanted a Q45 but new was too expensive. Purchased one dealer tune up at about 100K, and one 4-wheel brake job. Currently have 163K miles. If I had to buy another car, I would buy this car. CD changer and tape player no longer work. Replaced sunroof switch, replace belts. Great driving car-nimble for a large car. Very good on long trips.

Wonderful Car

I purchased my 1996 Q45 with 82K miles on it in 2004. I now have 109000 miles on it, and it is my favorite of all the cars I've ever had. It still rides and drives like it's new. It has incredible acceleration and beautiful styling. My only complaint would be the way it drinks super unleaded fuel, but I do manage to get 22mpg on the highway if I keep it at 70 mph or less.
