2002 INFINITI QX4 consumer reviews

Bought my 02 QX4 6 years ago with 86,000 miles on it. My wife drove it daily while attending nursing school and it has been a wonderful SUV for both of us. Last year during an ice storm here a 3 month old battery went dead, car sit for 1 year (we have 2 other vehicles) and today I finally replaced the battery and it started right up. Went to town and replaced the oil and filter and bought new set of tires. Runs perfect. I am 72 years old and this is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned.

This is a midsize truck that drives like a car. But also has 4 wheel drive, that will get you home in snow storms. Even if you live an hour away and to drive on an unplowed highway! This is a reliable vehicle and repairs are reasonable and inexpensive. And it has lots of cargo space. The rear seats flood down, very convenient.

I bought this car back in 2014 with 60,000 miles. It was in great shape although the check engine light was on. I pulled the codes and it was a coil going out. A common problem with these vehicles and if left unfixed will create more problems such as a cats needing replacing. I fixed it right away which prevented more expensive problems. I had to replace all of them since the car's computer won't isolate which one is bad. I also have replaced two cam angle sensors, fan clutch, ball joint, fan amplifier, and a oil cooler o-ring. These other repairs were made in the course of the additional 40,000 miles I drove it and really was not very expensive since I did most of these the things myself. The car drives very well in the snow for skiing . I love the all-wheel drive function. The car drives solid and is pretty quite and comfortable. Rust is starting to show up in a few places but is not an issue. Hopefully I can drive it for another 100,000 miles, we will see. It drives perfect and I like driving it. The Bose stereo was replace with another aftermarket head unit. The Bose speakers were not replaced and I replace the driver's door speaker last year. Still sounds great. Not a thrifty car for gas. I think the best highway mileage was around 19 MPG, and in town is 15-16 MPG. I have towed a boat and a small trailer with no problems. I have no regrets and will drive this until it won't go anymore, hopefully for 100,000 more miles. There are a few great used cars out there, the QX4 is a good car, not a great car.

I wish I could have kept this car. It has been a good purchase and she took me everywhere I needed to. With both the radio speakers that sound amazing and the sunroof it is the perfect car for road trips !

Bought the 2002 QX4 in 2005 with 38k miles on it. Still have it today with 146,000 miles on it. Kept the maintenance up on it and its returned the favor. Exterior is very nice and the interior is classic. Best vehicle I've owned and would buy it again if they made it.

I really like these cars. Living in a rural area with rough windy roads many of them gravel rather then paved I needed a rugged vehicle. A 1995 Pathfinder was my first one and it took a beating for years then a 1999 Pathfinder also took a beating. In 2015 I discovered an INFINIT QX4 2002 with only 86000 miles for less then comparable Pathfinders. Same strong reliable engine same drivetrain . The interior is much nicer with wood accents and an analog clock. Leather heated seats in front and back. Bose stereo and speakers Heated exterior mirrors. Very comfortable and best of all INFINITI dealers treat you better then most Nissan dealers. Great ski car, lots of room inside, roof rack and AWD or real 4 wheel drive that will get you out of situations where needed.

I had a jeep that sadly i totaled in accident and in needed of a car asap . Sure enough my cousin sold me his qx4 for 1000$ with 180,000 . I expected to only have it as a temporary car. 3 years later i still drive it everyday . Has 250,000 miles now and still driving strong . recently i got lucky and found another qx4 with only 67,000 miles bought it for 3,000$ and dont regret. I can honestly say if you get your hands on one you will fall in love. Best car to buy and most reliable car in my opinion.

I really like the way it looks outside this one has 118,00 mile and it had some minor wiggling on the steering wheel. but great SUV looking forward to finally owning it and getting behind the wheel. I'm purchasing this vehicle from a small mom and pops dealership for $4001.00 including tax and tag . hopefully they will fix the wiggling on the steering wheel and all components working properly.

I owned a 1998 qx4 that gave me over 200K miles. Never a major issue. This 2002 has 145K and is my daily driver. I don't have words for the quality and reliability of this vehicle.

My search criteria was 4x4, $6,000 or less, under 150,000 miles, and got good reviews for reliability. The Infiniti QX4 was the best match of all the other vehicles that came up in this search. I was very tempted to go with an X5 because I love bimmers, but the off-road ratings for the QX4 beat out the AWD of the X5. If I keep finding cars like this then I won't mind having a used car from now on.
