I owned a 01' Isuzu Rodeo LS for 4 years, I have to honestly say, It was a good vehicle for me....very dependable...wasnt the most luxurious, but it was a good SUV...wasnt exactly fun to drive around, except for maybe in the winter. The reason I got rid of it was, its not a very fuel efficient vehicle....Hope this helps someone.

Keep up on the manufacturers maintainance

Pros: Great looking SUV-good power, I've added brush guard, taillight lens covers, Hella fog lights, (Costco) safari rack, performance air intake (Calmini)...gets lots of looks. Great 4 wheel drive performance, I can almost climb trees in low range. "Winter drive" is helpful in deep (12"+) snow, "Power drive" will only kill what little MPG you get-don't use it-it's not a dragster. Cons: Poor MPG-you'll be lucky to ever see 20MPG. I get about 15 overall. Burns 1 quart of oil between changes-check it at every 1500 miles. How to keep it running: Do scheduled maintainace-a must. Finicky O2 sensors, intake carbons up, 4 wheel alignment helps drivability as do well balanced tires. Most problems I see from this vehicle are SELF INFLICTED! Change oil at 3K intervals always. Screw on gas cap tight. CD player has ghosts-keep trying it. Change fluids when due. Take it off-raod and have fun.

Watch out for the Transmission

Bought it used with only 65 thousand miles and now at 70 thousand I have to put in a new transmission. After checking with other owners they also had problems with transmission. Everyone loves their Rodeo but not their repair bill for the tranny.

Best SUV I Have Had

I love this car- it was my first car and ran very well! I would recommend to anyone looking! It is very reliable, looks good on the road and great for travel/camping etc. Safe and very few mechanical issues...

Good value for the money

Was rear ended by a drunk driver in a BMW. The Rodeo took the impact well and my son and I did not suffer major injuries, as did the driver of the BMW.
