" If it ain't steel, it ain't real. "

I have owned 2 jaguars xj8's. The first one was a 2001 and the one I currently have now is a 2003 with 58,000 miles, which is outstanding for a 20 year old car. I was blessed.

Best of Breed

I have always thought of Jaguar as a very special breed. Having owned quite a variety of wonderful vehicles through the years, I can safely say the 2003 Vanden Plas is my absolute favorite. The smooth elegant styling draws nods and looks of approval wherever she goes and the handling and effortless acceleration never fails to make me smile. The interior is very functional and yet of a caliber which always reminds you that you sit in a very refined and upscale vehicle. With 175 mph available on the speedometer, and suspension that is truly like a jaguar, there is a general feeling of confidence no matter the country road or open highway you find yourself on. The rear seat leg room is enormous and passengers never tire of pulling down the burl walnut tray tables for their tablets or cell phones. This Jaguar gives me pleasure, no matter the venue so it is well kept and maintained. That said, the only mechanical issue I have had has been a fuel pump.

Last model year of when "Jags looked like Jags"!

I've owned Jags for the last 28 years. They are, in my opinion, one of the best values in a used car you will ever find. The '95 through '03 model years were the last ones that still reflected that "classic" Jaguar vibe. As most of you know, Ford acquired Jaguar around 1989. The first thing they did was get rid of all the nightmare "Lucas" electrical components. Prior to that time, if you drove by a "Euro" repair shop and saw a Jaguar being worked on, it often times had the dashboard removed and a myriad of wires hanging down like tangled spaghetti. Consequently, Jaguar still suffers from their previous repution of being unreliable, thus resulting in some great buyers' opportunities in the "used car market", although these model years are rapidly starting to increase in value. The XJ8's beautiful body lines are now beginning to be highly coveted by collectors and aficionados of classic automobiles. I also own 3 classic Porsches and a semi-classic Benz but invariably get the most compliments when driving my beatiful 2003 Jaguar XJ8. As for the ride, it is virtually unequaled in smoothness, quiteness and luxurious comfort. The 4 Litre powerplant provides plenty of "get up" while achieving a generous MPG ... I recently got over 25 MPG on a road trip from Atlanta to Miami. In short, if you find a low mileage, well maintained example with service records, seriously consider adding it to garage! I don't believe you'll be disappointed!

The best car I've ever owned.

I bought mine in mint condition for $8000 with 40,000 miles. I've replaced the worn front Michelins with Pirellis, because Jaguar recommends them. I've only had to replace one coil( there are 8) and the spark plug on the same cylinder needed cleaning...that's all in 6 months of fun driving. The detailing on the XJ8 is terrific, everything is well thought out...Jaguar designers really know things that other car makers don't. It's pretty and fast and everyone I know was surprised when they've seen me driving around. I've gotten more compliments than I ever have before. I like the leather and its style and the only thing that was sub-par is the cupholders.

Most comfortable car ive owned

Car is great, I wish it had better cup holders and a larger back seat but it is vary comfortable and has all the features a car needs it, the trunk is large and so is the space. Only feature I wish it had was a rolls royce style retractable hood ornament.

Wonderful car

This car accelerates and handles well, is incredibly comfortable, and cruises almost silently at 80+ mph (aside from a little Jaguar gurgle from the exhaust pipes). Car consistently gets 25+ mph. With a lot of Ford mechanicals, I can even take it to the local quicklube and know they will have a filter. Overall, a really fine automobile.

Best vehicle purchase ever

I bought my "dream 'car from a dealer for $4,700. It only had 53K miles on it. It was immaculate inside and out. It rides like a dream and the V8 engine is awesome.
