Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 1998

Great four wheel drive vehicle. I enjoyed owning it. Always felt like I had the 'getaway vehicle' in all the action films... they always show them getting away in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is a fun truck.

Surprising Rare Muscle SUV

It has been a pleasant surprise. We inherited the vehicle from my father-in-law and I had always assumed Jeeps were very unreliable and costly to maintain. After some investigation I found that this version is rare, and at the time of production, had the largest, most powerful engine of any SUV made. There have been some basic components that have been replaced and a front differential leak has yet to be addressed, but my opinion is to keep this vehicle for a long time! It is ultimately to be my youngest son's vehicle, but for now, I am using it whenever I can. The torque is amazing and it is fun to have immediate, constant acceleration from any rpm level.

I may as well call it doom slayer

I might nickname it doomslayer because its been through xxxx and back. It is a well reliable car and then some. This car has great offroading capabilities as well as on road. The tow package is missing the cable harness to my confusion however it is a beast of the jeep line and its a shame they didn't continue creating this well made of jeep.

One of my favorite cars

Out of all the cars I’ve had in the past (‘96 Cherokee, Toyota 4Runner, even a 2015 Hyundai Tucson) this has been one of the most reliable and comfortable cars I’ve owned! It drives great, handles well, and has plenty of interior space. Going from a new car, the Tucson, back to an older car, I thought I would miss the perks of new cars (backup camera, Bluetooth, etc.) but I didn’t even notice! There is no need for a backup camera, the car is pretty much all windows and it’s very easy to navigate despite the size. The radio works great and the AC runs very cold. It’s extremely spacious, which is great for long trips, and the fact that is has less than 100k miles for being a ‘98 makes this car a truly great find!

Most fun to drive of any 4-wheel I have owned.

The GCL 5.9 has excellent acceleration and it got around very well in snow up to about one foot depth uphill or down. More headroom would be of benefit, because I am over six feet tall.
