We've had 22 great years in our KJ
I ordered the 2002 Jeep Liberty KJ Limited from Jeep in Aug. of 01 after test driving a sport 01 model at the dealer with the wife. We loved it from the start. The Liberty felt higher quality to us over the Cherokee we traded that was a 92 year model and the brakes were certainly worlds better than the Cherokee. The KJ was also a lot less noise inside and seemed of a higher quality build to us. We took delivery of our 02 in Oct of 2001 and have had it ever since. 22 years later we still love it and I do not see us getting rid ot it anytime soon when it has been a flawless rig. Just a couple recalls promptly repaired at the dealer is all we had to deal with really. Regular oil changes, flushing of the fluids at the suggested intervals, and only a couple of the windows falling down into the door immediately after buying it which were covered under warranty that first week I've read all the negative reviews of this rig and this year model. It has not been our experience at all to have issues other than regular expected things like stated. Off road it is surprisingly good. So, the only real surprise is that the Jeep KJ likes as much gas as my V8 vehicles did. However with that said I personally feel that anyone buying a Jeep that is concerned with MPG is looking at the wrong vehicle to begin with. What we got in return is a vehicle that will flat out zip around town and turns, stops and parks on a dime! Don't kid yourself. The KJ can impress even on a goat trail. On the beach when other 'Real Jeeps' got stuck we drove circles around them and pulled out. The only draw back is the wheels can lift up off the ground twisting it over big rocks for rock crawling but that is the sacrifice you make with independent front ends. What you don't get is a death wobble so drive it and be happy about it. We do!

Good reliable jeep
Great vehicle. We bought it used with 214,000 miles. Fuel pump starts acting up when reving around 3000 r.p.m. but resets performance when turned off and restarted. At 220,000 miles it started a small radiator leak a few inches from the top of the plastic part of the radiator where an attachment bolt is located, and one of the front ujoints went bad.

Solid compact SUV for urban environments
This was a great vehicle and pretty reliable overall. The only issue I had in five years was a transmission module. It was an expensive repair for a $50 part and soured our relationship a bit. Comfort with combined with off road capabilities I miss for sure. I have a Subaru now and like it as well but it sure cannot handle the same terrain as the Jeep.

300,xxx miles later and one motor swap still kicki
this thing being i treat it like a race car for no reason just because i know the transmission is shoot and such but still completely runs and drive and gets me to where i need to go i love my liberty its a piece of garbage at times but still runs with no care in the world heck it even out ran my friends civic and he maintain it way more then i do this liberty the jeep liberty made to destroy the Cherokee and fell face first into our hearts as a jeep that many think is slow and a is not a true jeep even though it holds on to what jeep was really meant for and that was no cares in the world ill just keep rolling

Amazing
I love it. Got it used as my first car. My Jeep had 108,000 and engine had 60,000. Now, being a first time driver, some of us make stupid mistakes. I’ve been in 3 car accidents with this car. Even got totaled once. Got t boned by a car going way over the speed limit. Not a single person got hurt. I had a friend sitting where we got hit and she had no injuries and the interior of my car wasn’t even touched though it should’ve been. We actually even rebuilt my car because it broke the right ways so that we could fix her up. Never had any major issues with her besides the powering steering. After a while they will moan and squeak. All my friends, including my mechanic, have this issue. Other than that, this car has never given me major issues!!! I even put custom lights, a new radio, remote start, and other customs to it and made it my own. Great for a first car, super reliable, super safe and a cheaper version of a wrangler! She ages like fine wine and her look is timeless

good for winter
car good for winter only and snow driving . but some time the water pump can blow in cold weather and the north America put virus in it so you can't change it by your self if you do you must brake the pulley. has many problems with steering and power steering leaks like small washer or casket if you replace it with new well not work you must take it to dealer not any garage. transmission well kick after 200.000 klm and timing belt well brake after 250.000 . in winter you well have many problem with car seam it's not designed for winter and also the deferential and transfer case has problems. the interior for car is very nice and car has nice shape from outside this is good.
