LOVE TO DRIVE IT!!

I purchased my Jeep Patriot Limited 4 x 4 in May and went on a road trip in June. I was initially attracted by the gas mileage and very pleasantly surprised by the comfort and ammenities. What surprised me the most was how it handles on the turns - much, much better than the Jeep Wrangler my husband owned and much more comfortable. We liked mine so much, he traded his Wrangler in for one!

Our 1st Jeep

We looked hard to find a family friendly car that could hold a growing family, was economical, and was fuel effecient. I'm glad we waited for the Patriot. We looked at Ford and Mercury hybrid SUV's, but I couldn't justify the cost or the break even point on the gas savings. Now, my wife and I 'argue' about who gets to drive the SUV.

One major problem

If you have a sunroof, it may leak into the dome light...Water and electricity don't mix...Have taken it in 3 times and not able to fix yet...Applying for the lemon law...other than that, the truck is great...

Excellent Value

My new Patriot Limited (3 weeks old) has all the goodies (heated leather seats, A/C, power windows, keyless entry, power sunroof, iPod port, 4 wheel drive, off road rated, auto transmission, 6-speaker sound system, CD player) for about $5,000 LESS than any other comparable SUV. Beautiful styling outside and nice quiet ride. There are some interior design quirks: Map lights, Rear view mirror, and Sunroof buttons are WAY in front of you - a full arm length away / Cup holders are down between the seats and hard to reach / center console storage bin is behind you -you need to turn a full 180 degrees and look down - impossible to use while driving / Storage bins in the front doors are short and not long enough to hold a map. But these are somewhat minor and for some reason these bad design choices are found on many cars today. But overall this is a beautiful SUV with lots of goodies and above average MPG (I'm getting 24 mpg on the freeway) , and you'll never beat this price - all of my friends and co-workers (even the 2 who drive a Mercedes) are envious !

Love this Jeep

As I keep vehicles for a LOOOONG time (just sold my '92 Mazda B2200), for the price, size, features and looks, the Pat beat a used CRV or Rav4 I was considering. And the 4x2 5spd will help in these days of gas gouging...

So much fun to drive!

Sporty, roomy, full of high tech toys, smooth quiet ride, tight steering, great looks, easy to keep clean, practical use. WOW!! I love my Patriot. Awesome gas mileage too. Can't beat it. So far the 4Cyl engine is fine. I went from a V8 Ford Explorer Limited decked out to my Patriot Limited and with the Nav system. Much happier with this machine and the gas mileage.

Great

I considered several different smaller SUVs and am very glad that I chose the Patriot. It is really terrific!
