This is the first Jeep (Renegade) I've ever owned
I've never owned a Jeep but I've owned other vehicles with all wheel or 4-wheel drive. I live in a small New England town where driveways can be long, steep and not paved. Driving on winding snow covered roads is a daily reality since storms can last several days and xxxxxxcan't always keep up. I really don't care about a car's bells and whistles so it's fine that the interior is pretty simple and the seats are covered in breathable but comfortable fabric. I told my sales rep I only really cared about AC (I'm allergic to bees so windows down in good weather isn't a risk I take) and Bluetooth (I must have good music to listen to because of all the driving I do). This car has both so that's all I need. The steering wheel is pretty standard with buttons to answer calls and engage cruise control. I do wish it had a button to skip songs playing via Bluetooth like most cars I've driven but I can live with that. Having been in a serious accident in which I totaled my prior car, I saw just how many airbags cars have these days and it was reassuring since I had two of my children in the car at the time. I had ONSTAR in that vehicle and I was not impressed that once my airbags were deployed ONSTAR should have been automatically notified prompting a call to ask if I was OK. This call never came so I didn't care if my future car had ONSTAR and my Jeep Renegade does not. It does however have any and all airbags all top safety vehicles have now and I now have an app that notifies me if my vehicle has been in an accident which I very important because I have teenagers who drive this car regularly. My insurance is the same as it was for a sedan that was 5 years older. The distance from the top of your head to the roof is much bigger than any vehicle I've ever been in and there is plenty of room in the backseat for my three teens when we take the car somewhere as a family. There is AMPLE room in the hatch area for moving pieces of furniture, packing bags for a trip, etc. The back seats go down and it is easy to slide in anything you need to. I recently moved a large desk and then a large upholstered chair that could fit 2 people. My Jeep also has a rack on the roof to easily tie down things as well. It also has the capability to put it in 4-wheel drive and then choose snow, sand or mud. We've never had to use it in sand or mud but I can tell you I drive on country roads, over mountains and on interstates and the 4-wheel drive is AMAZING! I feel comfortable and confident even on unplowed, unsanded roads! If I had to choose any downside, and this is so petty I had to think hard, it would be I wish the center console was a bit bigger/taller so that the driver or front passenger could more easily rest their elbow/forearm. It has two spots for drinks and a place that is big enough for keys, makeup, a brush, etc and when it's lid is down you can push it forward for more arm support. It's a minor complaint but thought I'd include it. The oil changes require 100% synthetic oil which can be a bit more pricy than a car that takes a synthetic blend but my dealer gave us free changes for a year and there are always coupons to be found. Again, a minor complaint or rather, something I wasn't aware of before getting my first oil change. I love the look of the car, the color, the features, everything! I've owned many sedans and a few SUV's in the 25+ years I've been driving and this is my first brand new car and I would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't care about getting all the features of a fully loaded car (i.e. heated leather seats, the ability to play DVD's, etc) but wants something safe, reasonably priced with ample room for driver and passengers and the ability to move things like furniture, landscape materials, etc. I give it 5 stars overall!

The most nimble SUV ever.
I went for price and the fact that I need it for work. I purchased the sport version with the 6 speed manual transmission. On the first drive I thought to myself it was a boring slow car, but then I gave it enough gas to let the turbo kick in and found that it is extremely responsive, and the handling for an SUV rivals most sedans. My biggest issue is the cargo space is really limited and fills up quick. The gas mileage depends on how much you test that turbo. I average 25.6mpg and do mostly city driving. What little it was on the hwy it got 31mpg at about 75mph. I took it on my construction site and expected it to get stuck after a heavy rain, but was surprised as it pulled through 4-5 inches of clay mud easily. Overall I am amazed with its versatility and impressed with the price.

The best SUV I?ve ever had!
I never thought I?d ever own a Jeep but now that I do it is the most awesome SUV. I bought it for many reasons one being the way it handles on the road plus all the Amazing safety features it has to offer. Plus it?s sweet to zip around town with. I would definitely get another one in the future.

Fantastic compact SUV
This is a great little SUV. I drive it to work (120 miles one way) and get 29-31 miles/gallon on the interstate. It is comfortable, roomy I the front, and the radio/interface is a great convenience. I love this vehicle
