The only kia rio I will accept. my toxic car calle
In 2004 my great-grandfather bought the 2004 Kia Rio 1.6 sedan, and he was using it until 2009, my grandmother took it over and started using it from Monday to Friday to travel 26 miles round trip. The thing is that during that time the Kia began to damage the MAF senser every 5 to 6 months and it was only going 20 MPH on the highway. In 2015, a Hyundai Tucson arrived. The Kia was given to my uncle and my uncle used it and the same thing happened to him. I changed the complete engine air system and put a sports one in it and it was fixed but almost 2 years later it went back to the same thing. He abandoned it for two years and now I have it. I changed the radiator, the oil and filter, I changed the transmission oil and filter for the first time in 136,000 miles, and I still have to change the Maf senser, crankshaft senser, the ignition coil, the spark plug wires and the spark plugs and that's it. It would be necessary to fix the wheel and change discs, brake pads and everything would be new with paint and the air conditioning was damaged in 2021 and was fixed but a connector broke if the air conditioning was fixed and everything was ready.I was born in 2006 and I am 17 and I am from Puerto Rico.

Quite gas efficient.
This car met my needs, I like the room and reliability. I really was looking for a cheap car that would meet my needs of transportation, commuting and one that would make me save some cash on gas. Kia Rio 2004 was the one so far.

It's Alright, Not Great
Transmission, you're gonna need a new transmission, maybe even two. I had the transmission rebuilt and repaired a number of times while owning this vehicle. Thankfully, the first rebuild was under warranty. After that, I was on my own. It was only a matter of time. This car is probably worth the money, but don't expect it to last very long. You get what you pay for.

Terrible vehicle
I bought this vehicle in March and it was working fine, but now it has so many problems with it that are not worth fixing.

Kicked for a while
I bought my old Kia as my first car. I loved it to death, drove it back and fourth from Ohio to Georgia about 4 times before it gave out on me.

Biggest Financial Mistake of My Life
This car has been nothing but trouble since I bought it. It had 60k miles on it. I paid about 5.5k for it. I have spent close to $5k on repairs! The transmission died at 103k miles, the spark plug wires burned out every 5k miles, and the car is now on its last leg at a mere 110k miles. My car has been dubbed "the cautionary tale" and no one I know will buy a Kia Rio after experiencing my car. It is a complete and utter disappointment. The only good things are the gas mileage and the handling.

Good car for the money.
Good reliable transportation at an affordable price. Note: Change to timing belt at 60000 miles. I lost the engine at 75000 miles because I did not. I junked the car.

Very Affordable Commuter
I owned this car for around a year. Get it at 4 years old at 44k miles. Had no maintenance problem at all. Very good on gas. Nice inside an out. Acceleration is very good for 1.6 engine. Usually I could made 24 MPG city and 34-36 MPG highway.
