2020 Kia Telluride SX AWD – Stunning Vehicle, But Paint &

2020 Kia Telluride SX AWD – Stunning Vehicle, But Paint & Engine Failures with No Accountability We bought a 2020 Kia Telluride SX AWD in White Pearl with black wheels and the beautiful brown leather interior. We fell in love with this vehicle—from the premium features like the holographic MPH display to the spacious, upscale cabin, advanced safety tech, and all-wheel drive performance. Kia made something special here, and we were proud to drive it. But within just 3–4 years, we ran into two major failures—both widely known issues—and Kia refused to take full responsibility. 1. Engine Failure / Oil Consumption The engine began burning oil at an abnormal rate and had to be replaced. Kia only paid for half the cost, leaving us with a $4,000+ bill, even though this issue is common in late-model Tellurides and has been widely reported. 2. White Pearl Paint Peeling Soon after, the paint started peeling in large sheets—mainly on the roof and pillars. Our trusted body shop and insurance adjuster both confirmed this is a known factory defect caused by poor paint adhesion. Kia’s Consumer Affairs department denied our claim—not based on the facts, but because the car had just passed the 100,000-mile mark. This has nothing to do with mileage or wear. It’s a quality issue—plain and simple. We now face another $3,000+ repair just to repaint a vehicle that was still under five years old when these problems occurred. This SUV has been garage-kept, well-maintained, and treated with care. Kia: We were loyal fans of this vehicle. You had us. But your lack of accountability for repeated, well-documented manufacturing defects has completely eroded that trust. 👉 Please contact us directly to make this right. We have full documentation: repair quotes, paint photos, insurance verification, and the Consumer Affairs denial. You still have the opportunity to do the right thing—for us and for the many others dealing with these same problems. Until then, we’ll continue sharing our experience to help others make informed decisions.

I have bought a new KIA every two or three years since

I have bought a new KIA every two or three years since 2006 over the years their service department has gone to pot. Also I currently own a 2020 Telluride I found out the oii was not lasting to next oil change, service told me today it uses a quart of oil every 1000 miles this is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. How much are the big oil companies paying KIA and Hyundai to make oil eating engines these engines need to be recalled and replaced

2020 Telluride

Telluride functions as a large SUV while feeling like a more nimble vehicle. Storage space is generous and interior is well thought out. Smooth, quiet ride with adequate acceleration.

Kia refuses to honor its warranty on Telluride

Just saw another 2020 Telluride break down in the fast lane on I-70. I bought a 2020 Telluride and then started reading online about its widespread failure pattern. My engine then seized up and Kia refused to honor any warranty. If you believe their advertisements about "best warranty" in the industry, don't count on it. They won't honor it. I had to replace the engine and a second Kia engine failed. Sold this lemon quickly as I could.

Smooth as butter.

I’ve had my 2020 Telluride for almost a year now. Thought I was in love with my 2017 Kia Sedona, until I got my Kia Telluride SX now I’m head over heels😊smooth ride , great sound system, quiet cabin, decent gas mileage and very stylish. I love driving this suv everyday. Thank you Johnathan at Holly Kia in Felton Delaware.

Great Car

Great car, overloaded with ‘gadgets) I’m still learning about. Good mileage. No problems have had it 15 months. Model SX5. Liking the mode switch for different driving conditions, good in snow. Don’t like some features ( lane keeping assist etc but they can be turned off). MPG varies from 23 to 35 depending on type of road etc.

Will buy again!

I waited for this to come out so I could buy it. I got mine the day they came out! I would have loved the green or brown version, but I live my grey!!

KIA hit it out of the park

A sharp SUV for the money, not just for transporting but good long trips. Gas a bit below par..but overall it is very good! Enjoy the ride.
