The Car that just would not keep running

Excellent comfort and great off road. Low road noise with high visibility. I just could not keep this car running. One thing after another every 3 to 6 months.

Never Again!

2003 Discovery II SE7 Pros: Great Styling Winter Package (Heated windshield!) 3rd row jump seats rear a/c comfortable on long trips good in snow good visibility 2 sunroofs Cons: EXTREMELY unreliable COSTLY repairs odd interior controls and placement Bottom Line: If you have the money for frequent and costly repairs, then go for it. But, if you're looking for a quality family SUV that has great styling, then I recommend looking elsewhere.

Love the Disco (car). Hate the disco (music).

Bought it used LR Disco SDII used a year ago with 58k on the odometer. It now has 72k. I absolutely love this car. Bought it for winter and the occasional off road camping trip. It has become my everyday/everywhere car. Gave my wife the Jaguar XJ8 to drive. I love the commanding view and presence of the car. It is so comfortable to drive anywhere. Upgraded the stereo to a Sony and added an amplifier and additional Sony speakers to the cargo area. Now has 18 speakers and 1200 watts. I love my music when cruising in this thing. no real issues to date. Stone cold reliable and in the winter it's so secure and great in the snow. Added roof racks and the Disco gets me to some really off road water launches for my kayak. I absolutely love the placement of the cup holders where you can see and reach your drink in front of you which beats blindly reaching to your side. Has the luxury touches and I feel great just climbing in it all the time. Wish I had purchased one years ago.

Beautiful but expensive

A beautiful design, inside and out. Comfortable and spacious. The FWD will take you anywhere. But very unreliable, expensive to maintain, the useless roof rack is unreachable for all but the tallest.

Great

The Disco has always treated me fair. Sure, there are things that go up on it, but with proper care, most things can be prevented. We love it!!

SPORTY YET TRENDY, DIFFERENT THAN THE NORM!

A SPORTY AND TRENDY SUV THAT IS A LOT OF CAR FOR THE MONEY WHEN YOU LOOK AT WHAT YOU CAN BUY A NICE ONE FOR COMPARED TO WHAT THEY COST NEW. COMFORTABLE OVERALL IF YOU ARE LESS THAN 6 FEET TALL AND WEIGH LESS THAN 200 LBS. IF YOU ARE OVER THOSE NUMBERS, YOU WILL NOT BE COMFORTABLE. I HAVE OWNED MULTIPLE DISCO'S. MY LAST ONE CAUGHT ON FIRE, BUT I AM STILL BACK FOR MORE! WORST PART OF THESE CARS IS THE MAINTENANCE....DO NOT BUY ONE IF YOU DON'T HAVE A BIG WALLET. THEY ARE EXPENSIVE, LEAK OIL AND OTHER FLUIDS LIKE CRAZY, HAVE HEADGASKET ISSUES, DRIVESHAFT ISSUES, AND ALL KINDS OF OTHER STUFF. IF YOU ARE PREPARED TO SPEND ALMOST AS MUCH TIME IN A SHOP AS YOU DRIVE IT, IT'S FOR YOU! KEEP A SPARE CHEAP HONDA ACCORD AROUND AS A SECOND CAR SO YOU CAN DRIVE IT WHILE THE ROVER IS IN THE SHOP! GREAT CARS, AWESOME OFF ROAD, INCREDIBLE 4X4, BUT NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!
