Don’t blame the rover, blame the inadequate techs.

The problem people are having with their rover is not the actual mechanical issue as it is the personnel assigned to repair. Let’s face it things happen;it’s up to the technicians to repair the issues, these sorry technicians is the problem.

Avoid Like The Plague!! Worst Experience

Quite possibly the worst purchase I’ve ever made! Stay away!! The list of issues is extensive and only got worse after the warranty expired. Two windshield replacement due to water leaks, console cooler stopped working at 50k miles and it was barely used. Oil leaks. Hood cable replaced twice before 60k miles, so many software updates to fix glitches that varied from screens just randomly going black, slow touchscreen response, freezing infotainment…more oil leaks. Sunroof motor replaced before 60kmiles, DEF errors galore!! This HSE Lux TD6 just eats through tires. But maybe Continental tires just suck. Seat belt assembly issues. More oil leaks. Its just an awful car! There’s a reason LR has two protective plates underneath. They don’t want you to see all the plastic connected to metal components. First and Last LR! Way too many issues for a 5yr old car.

Disappointed

We’ve had the car since new. 5 years now. It was very reliable up to 60,000. The console refrigerator stopped working, interior trim pieces broke or have come apart, exterior body trim pieces fading the hood latch broke, the air conditioning has stopped working and now there is a coolant leak. This is becoming very expensive to keep. Very disappointing.

Not reliable

In 5 years it has been in the shop at least 10 x’s. Now that the warranty is done I am getting one thousand dollared to death. The latest, window won’t go down, more screen problems, rain sensor and heater temp sensor shot. At 50,000 miles its got issues of a car twice its age.

Beautiful, Powerful Family SUV+

Owned a pre-owned Discovery for a year and no problems. Its perfect for the suburban environment in which I drive. Its the right balance of utility (plenty of cargo space, off-road capability, 7-seater), power and efficiency (powerful, efficient V6 engine) and design (nice minimalist, clean design). This is my second Land Rover vehicle and the other I still own and is approaching 100k miles.

In the shop ALL the time

I loved this vehicle when I got it. But repairs are INSANELY expensive and it's in the shop ALL the time. I was just given an $11K estimate for resolving a diesel engine air filter for a vehicle that has only 60K miles on it. That's after spending +$3K to change the brakes.

Excellent SUV no issues

Loved the SUV. Only had one issue with the radio. Comfortable and mechanically perfect. Excellent ride, powerful engine, quiet cabin, great features. Loved the car!!!

Worst Car- Can’t wait for my lease to end!

I was so excited about upgrading from Lexus to Land Rover. I currently lease a 2018 LR HSE Diesel. It is hands down the worst car I’ve even owned maintenance wise. The engine crapped out on me at 19k miles and they had to put a band new Diesel a engine in it. Luckily it was covers by warranty. The reliability of the technology is so poor. Sometimes my main screen will just be black, so no air, no radio. You have to stop the car, turn it off, get out lock it, then allow it to reset before trying again. Dealer told me it was needing updates when this happened. Well, it’s had 3 updates in 1.5 years and it’s not an easy task. The dealer needs it for a day. When driving the front warning will random alert with nothing ahead, key fobs eat through batteries. I now have 21k on the car and the car shakes when I brake- which means it needs new pads/roaters. It’s also eating through tires so I will need tires before the lease ends to pass inspection. The only thing I have going for me is that it is still under warranty, But it has lived at the dealer being in the shop so many times. Other than being a pretty car, is the biggest money pit ever. First and LAST LR I will ever own!

great car but has many problems

the discovery has been a great car for me and my family. the only thing bad was reliability which is terrible. i was very lucky to not have much problems on my HSE Luxury. otherwise the car was very comfortable, but where we live there are a ton of these, which drops the value. but if you want to get into the land rover brand, this is your best bet. and service was great.

I owned an SE. Not to pleased about it.

The style is ok. I owned an LR4 HSE before this one. This ride is smoother than the LR4. However the lighting and steering sucks.
