Love this car!
I traded in my 2016 Mazda 6 to a Mazda 3 hatchback because I wanted to downsize. Though it is a compact vehicle, I don’t feel I lost any of the amenities, in fact I gained some with the tech upgrades Mazda has given since my original purchase.

I love this car. It drives fast. I’ve had a Volkswagen Jetta for six years. I finally upgraded to a Mazda 3 and I absolutely love it.

Perfect car for me six speed fun to drive!
2018 Mazda 3 Sport Hatchback Six Speed Manual. Very fun to drive maneuvers well and holds the road well in turns. Sport model doesn't have fog lights or navigation.

Mazda products going backwards
I purchased this vehicle recently after owning a 2011 Mazda (16-valve 2.5L engine) for several years as well as periodically driving a friend's 2005 Mazda-3 hatchback before that. In my experience and opinion, the Skyactiv powertrain represents a step backwards for Mazda. This engine is clearly inferior to previous Mazda products in terms of throttle responsiveness and low/midrange power delivery. At freeway speeds the vehicle is fine and relatively smooth. However, this engine periodically--not always--seems to hesitate and surge at low speeds. On a few occasions, a large pause and lurch has been experienced when accelerating. 91 octane gas seems to eliminate the surging, but it's too soon to definitively tell at only 1200 miles. The transmission also does not shift as smoothly and seamlessly as the CX7's. Often when going around a corner and reducing speed, the engine seems to bog down briefly as if the transmission gear is too high. Lastly, the quality and finish of certain interior parts is surprisingly poor. The rear seat has very thin cushioning. It's possible to actually bend and fold the rear seat up laterally from the sides, it's not secured tightly down. The headliner fits poorly in the rear and in my vehicle it gives an irritating creak/rattle at low speeds when going over road irregularities in the road. I would recommend to anyone considering this model, please check it over thoroughly and test drive very carefully

Fantastic, fun sporty car with tons of features
Wife wanted a manual transmission, affordable sports car (not super-sports car like Vette or Porsche). Looked at VW GTI and Mazda3 5-door hatchback, Grand Touring. Mazda was a slam dunk. Great looking, comfortable, and so many features for the money, we are thrilled.

Amazing car
This is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I have absolutely no complaints with it. It is comfortable, drives amazingly, and has plenty of creature comforts all wrapped up in a very pleasing price tag for the options on the vehicle.

Great car
Overall I love my mazda. I have the hatchback touring manual because mazda automatics are horrible to me. 6 speeds are flawless, fantastic clutch, and the hill assist is nice for those steep inclines with a truck 4 inches from your bumper. Outside of the car is gorgeous, I love that it actually has a hood yet stays very sleek. Seat heaters are nice, the Bose sound system makes it feel like you are in a music hall, fully adjustable seats makes sure you have a comfortable ride, and it's very quiet until you mash the pedal and has a nice growl, along with plenty of go and sporty steering for the class of car. The biggest downside to this car is the park brake. It's got a bloody button instead of a proper parking brake. I still loathe the noise it makes when you turn the brake in or off. Other than that, I think the screen sticking out of the dash is a little weird, but I got used to it within the first week. And coming from someone who has driven old hot rodded carbureted vehicles, I get nervous not having a real temperature gauge on the trip computer. But that's being pretty picky. Anyway, its vary roomy on the inside, though the rear leg room and hatch space isn't as good as my 2015 Hyundai elantra gt (RIP). But still gets the job done.

My first car and I couldn't be happier.
I purchased the Grand Touring and am fully pleased with spending the extra money to get the extra features. The exterior is sleek, attractive, and looks the best compared to other compact cars at this price point. Meanwhile the interior feels luxurious without the steep price tag - the black leather seats are comfortable and make it look and feel great. The Bose sound system is excellent, and the integration with Android Auto allows me to play from my favorite Spotify playlists with ease. I fell in love with the Mazda3 the moment I saw it, and despite looking at comparative cars from other brands, none of them were quite as refined and polished as this one felt. As someone who cares about both looks and function, I feel like it's a perfect marriage of both, as the car not only looks great, but drives great as well. I've only owned it for a month so I may still be in the "honeymoon" period, but I love this car. It looks and feels fancy without having me mourn over my wallet, and I actually look forward to having to go places because it's so fun to drive!
