2004 Mazda 6i 4 cylinder 5 speed manual bought new

Bought my Mazda 6i 4 cylinder, 5 speed manual brand new in 2004. The best car I have ever owned it now has 114K miles on it and looks and drives as new. Had sagging headliner replaced at upholstery shop for $400. Other than a leaking power steering line replaced for $150 bucks its just required the usual maintenance, tires, brakes, spark plugs, and regular oil changes with full synthetic oil...great car.

Bought the car used 10 years ago and never had iss

As the title says, I bought a 2004 Mazda 6i (base model) 10+ years ago and never had a mechanical issue. The only odd this is the sunglass dashboard clip broke, the sunvisor clip broke (easy fix for like 5 bucks) and then regular maintenance. I basically treat this car like a truck. Loaded with landscaping bricks, rocks, etc. Multiple times to the point it looked like a lowering kit was put on it.

Pretty reliable vehicle

Vehicle has met all of my needs. Bought it for my 17 year olds first car. 196,800 miles and runs great. Drove it foe the first 3 months daily just to check the performance and the overall condition before giving it to her. Other than replacing motor support, front struts and rotors and pads for the front, I would have to say that it’s a pretty reliable vehicle.

2001 Mazda6 Dangerous and unreliable headlights !!

I have had nothing but issues with this car. I would have never purchased this vehicle if I had know that there are issues with the head lights...I have had the car for 2 years and have replaced the high and low beams both 8 times, they work for a couple weeks(sometimes a couple of hours) and then they go out or they flicker off and on every time you hit a bump or they just stop working altogether-I am not the only person who has had this issue either. I personally know 2 other people that have gone through this as well. I cannot believe that this isn't a factory recall with so many people having the same issue, also its the only model car I have ever had that you have to bring it to a mechanic to switch out the headlight bulbs...its impossible to do it yourself because of the design. Has anyone been able to resolve this headlight issue? I would really like this car if it weren't for the unreliable headlights. Currently I can't even drive the car at night as I only have 1 highbeam and no low beams because I'm sick and tired of wasting my money on replacing the lights and I am saving for a new car...oh, also its a manual and it currently kicks out of 5th gear if you use the gas pedal and the car only has 160,000 miles on it...

Good daily car and spacious.

Excellent car for a small family, individual who wants ample space and responsive car without breaking the bank. Good for folks doing daily commute, weekend car or road trips. Under the hood is a V6 so it’s pretty powerful and uses regular gas.

Car keeps going

Has 270,000 miles and still going strong. Have only replaced normal wear and tear parts. Love the wagon style it still looks good today. Wish Mazda still brought the wagon to our shores.
