Best vehicle of any kind, especially for the money

Best vehicle ever. Bought first one with 10,000 miles on it in 2006. Still have it, with 186,000 miles on it. Bought second one new, a few years later. Second one destroyed in a collision a year or so later, walked away without a scratch. Bought a third one 4 years ago, 190,000 miles. Outstanding cars. Powerful, comfortable, affordable, decent fuel mileage—great car. Common problems- transmission shifts rough at about 110,000 miles. Changing out the fluid fixed both of mine. Also, at higher miles, engine may tend to smoke at times. That is caused by valve seals. Both cars needed wheel bearings replaced on two wheels around 100k. Parts are cheap, easy car to work on. Best a/c out there. A little too powerful, easy to spin front wheels from dead start on the front wheel drive models. Best friend bought one 3 years ago for $3,500. Best car he had ever owned too.

Great SUV

the car is a work horse, just keeps going. the clear coat on the roof peeled off but it dosent effect the performance, I have 280K on it and just now am experiencing transmission issues.

Very reliable.

This vehicle had very few problems. It had a lot of extra space in the back. The all wheel drive made it handle snow and ice very well.

Bought new in 2004

The BEST vehicle I ever owned. 239k and still mechanically sound. Bought new in Sept 2004. Same body style from inception in 2004 until retired in 2011 so many think my car is newer than it is.

Best car I have ever owned.

Sohc engines are basically street racers, but the Selectronic transmission with awd makes mountain travel easy. The 4 wheel independent suspension makes for a comfortable ride. Use Costco Michelins for good all year round performance.

Best Vehicle We've Owned

We bought our 2004 Endeavor XLS new in Oct 2003 for my wife to take to work and for us to take on vacations. My wife drives about 23,000 miles per year. The Endeavor now has 325,000 miles (not a misprint) and runs great! I use Mobil 1 Synthetic every 6,000 miles. The paint is still vibrant after nearly 14 years. We believe it's time to replace the vehicle with a new one but will continue to drive the Endeavor a couple times each week. We had the issue with the A/C condensation leaking under the carpet on the driver's side due to a clogged drain line. I found a TSB on the A/C and fixed it for the cost of a foot of tubing and some glue but had to remove the seats and carpet to clean thoroughly. I also replaced the driver's side rear wheel bearing when we started hearing a dull thud on the highway. I replaced the alternator at 190,000 just because I was worried it might fail. A year ago, the six CD changer stopped ejecting disks but the four CDs stuck in the player work well. lol The large rear passenger side speaker's surrounding foam gave up and I had to disconnect the speaker because of cracking noises. Never changed out the speaker though. We got over 100,000 miles out of a set of Firestone Destination LE tires. A bit too far since rain had the wheels sliding. I don't like the fact the engine has a timing belt but lived with needing to change all components every 90,000 miles. The engine is very smooth and powerful. The seats are still the most comfortable of any vehicle we've owned. Next SUV will probably be the Highlander. We have been shopping for five months. Hard to find something my wife likes more than her Endeavor.

Honestly the best car in the world

I got this car in 2014 and fell inlove it was the best car I have ever owned in my life very comfortable amazing sound system lots of space looks and sounds great never ever broke down or stalled out once you never hear of a car that works that flawless, it got me through a very rough time when i lost my job and house shorty after. It had 120,000 miles on it and I drove it without with ZERO maitnance til 214,194 miles I sadly had to sell it last month so I could rent a new house, itwas sold to a friend who still uses this car to this day. This car was 100% very very fast and powerful I drove this car everyday at least 6 times to my job interviews food shopping and meetings and doctor visits and so on Now for the no maitnace part I some how got away without changing a single thing on this car. It literally worked just fine without ever changing the oil (I just added a little more sometimes). I wasnt proud of this i just never thought to do maitnance at the time BUT hat just shows how dependable this car is!! I will definantly get another when I get lucky and get hired soon I miss this car so much

2004 Endeavor

Bought new, so it's 12 years old now. Wish I could have had leather interior without the sunroof. Car inside is very noisy, I believe because of the sunroof. Slight rust along the rear wheel well. I love the visability when driving. I love the ride - it's as smooth today as it was when I bought it. We've had the typical things go wrong, wheel bearing, brakes, light bulbs, wiper blade on the back is needing repair, tires. Highly recommend. Wish they had not stopped making them. At this rate if I buy a 2011 it's already 7 years old :(

Original 2004 limited owner writing in 2016

I had intended to keep the car for ten years, but so far it's been 12 years. It was a great car and I had very few issues with it the entire time I had it. These were the only issues over the years: the heating system wasn't great, which wasn't an issue since I lived in Texas. The silver on the air vents and door handles flaked off, but I had them repainted and they were fine. The 'belts' in the windows went in every window ie had to be replaced. I had an issue with the air conditioner one year, but it turned out the line was clogged. Had it cleaned out and no further issues. Once the sun roof leaked; I had it fixed and was never an issue again. The good things: it was reliable, the heated seats were great, the leather seats were gorgeous, it was roomy and I felt it was a good value when I bought it. I paid something like 3500 -4500 under msrp. I think it still has a number of years to go, to be honest, but it's time to move on for me...
