2008 Nissan Altima consumer reviews

I have friends who've driven Altimas and they had said good things. This is the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned. The paint has completely chipped off the front bumper (after already being repainted once). The interior is made with the cheapest plastic known to man. This creates rattles when it's hot, rattles when it's cold, rattles when you put a drink in the drink holder. the one good thing I would say is it gets good mileage (up to 39 mpg highway with 6 speed manual). The radio lights are constantly dimming/fading in and out. The back armrest on the rear seat is coming off (no one ever sits back there). The door handles are coming off. Low quality. Would not recommend.

Love this car! One-owner, well cared for/maintained, low mileage, loaded w/amenities! Drove a 280ZX for years -- switched to another make -- glad to be back!

This is my second car, but the first I purchased myself. I love the style of the car. The ride is smooth, but the car does run loudly sometimes. I wish the car had more horsepower, but I would recommend this car to others. I have BOSE speakers in mine and I wouldn't purchase another car without it. Make sure you have heated seats too!

I bought this car brand new and after 6 months my breaks had to be replaced! Then two years later I had to get a new transmission and have had to replace the belts several times. Also, battery went out after only 2 years. This car is horrible and extremely unreliable! I would not recmmend anyone ever get this car...EVER!

I bought my 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 S last Fall from a new car Chevy dealer at a great price. The car looks and drives like new. I put 2.5 K miles on it and so far no problems. I am very happy with it. Although it's a 4-cylinder car, I really don't feel much loss in performance compared with my 2000 6-cylinder Nissan Maxima, however, great improvement in miles/gallon.

Like the car, enjoy the gas mileage-it just isn't as comfortable as a Maxima. The seats are just not good, otherwise, love the car!

This is my third Altima, super hot looking car. Continously Variable Transmission is smooth as silk, interior is comfortable (could be classified as large car), gas efficent, engine is very peppy for a four cylinder. love driving this car!

I just bought a 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 and I love it. It drives great, it looks great and the mileage is awesome! Love the rear camera, and gps!

very nice car good mileage and smooth but only think is don't like is engine sound its like lawn mower.. cmon nissan you can do better ..! but defnetly good car ..! i have chevy malibu before Oh God i get nightmare when i see malibu, may be because i have one bad car it was used though but thanks God i got better car now ..

I've driven my used altima for about 10k miles now and while I'm satisfied with it's general reliability, I am rather disappointed in it's overall performance and seemingly poor construction. The cabin is loud when driving on the highway and all the plastic components continuously rattle at speeds over 50 mph. Dealer said there doesn't appear to be any reason I'm experiencing this as everything is in line and working properly. I'd suggest looking at the sonata as I've recently tested how they performed and was much more satisfied with their overall performance and interior components.
