Best Truck Ever
I've had this truck for 17 years. I wouldn't trade it now for a brand-new one. It's still fun to drive. Things have slowly stopped working, like the door locks, AC, and power steering, but those things are for pansies anyway. The drive train has never disappointed me. Women come and go, but this Nissan truck has never failed me.

I like the reliability of my Nissan.
When I buy another vehicle I want more interior room and towing capacity. I continue to like Nissan although a friend of mine has a Toyota truck and he lives it.

Best truck ever.
I bought my 2000 3.3L V6, 5-speed manual, 4x4, Frontier SE in 2013. Well, it's 2019 now, it's got 355,000km on it, and runs like a dream. In the last year I had the timing belt and the transmission replaced (yikes) and now it's like a brand new truck. The non-interference engine means the timing belt was only about $800 instead of several thousand, and the tranny wasn't cheap but was still 100% worth the $2,500 to replace. I run a dog hiking business and regularly have several hundred pounds of pooch in the back with no issues. I've taken it off-road a bunch, up mountains in blizzards, hauled ridiculous amounts of stuff with it, and it hasn't let me down. Regular maintenance keeps this truck going. A good testament to its durability was when a dog ripped a hole in the back seat and I set out to find a replacement. After spending 2 months searching wreckers across BC, AB and WA, I finally called Nissan for a quote on a new replacement and told the gentleman how long/far I'd been looking. He laughed and told me "oh yeah, you'll have a hard time finding these in the wrecker with anything left on it. The body will literally fall apart around the drivetrain/engine on that truck, they're the best we've ever made" ... And I believe him! I can't recommend this truck enough, and the engines are the same in the Pathfinder, Xterra and Frontier for a bunch of years around 2000, so it's worth looking into those models if you're looking for more interior space. My only complaint is the back seats are too small for more than the driver and front passenger to be comfortable on a long trip, however if you have kids that won't be an issue as their little legs should fit just fine.

316,000 miles and still running hard!
Very good overall design, generally easy to maintain, great gas mileage and extremely reliable in all driving conditions. Only owner for the last 19+ years. Replaced with the same model, but 20 years younger (new model).

Can't stop the silver burro!
I purchased my manual 5 speed 2.4L in August of 2000..... about 17 years and over 200K later she's still rollin strong. It's a 4 banger as at the time of purchase I had a 40 mile commute to work, and that was before I knew about the legendary status of the KAE24. I test drove all the "small" trucks and this felt like the best bang for the buck. It's been used and abused and done things a 4 Cylinder prob wasnt meant to. (Used as a work truck, towed a 17' boat, etc) It's been hit a few times (3 times in a parking lot, and once stopped at a traffic light) and takes a lickin.... it has some rust, but after 17 years of living by the beach and loading it up with salty surfboards and fishing gear, that's to be expected I guess Since I've owned it, outside of basic maintenance I've just replaced the front brakes, alternator and crankshaft pulley (harmonic balancer) and was able to do all that myself. AC is currently not working, but I think that was from me not running it for awhile. My friends laugh as they know I've become attached to a beatup little 4 banger truck (they've all had multiple cars since Ive purchased this one) but you can't stop my lil burro! Just changed the plugs and it'll still chirp tires in 2nd gear :-) I'd say I've gotten my $$ worth and my next truck will be another Nissan (a v6 for towing purposes) .... I just hope it rivals the dependability of this one, and that's why I havent pulled the trigger yet

Great little trucks
Solid, dependable vehicle. Nissan knocked it out of the park with this 2.4L 4-cylinder engine and transmission combo in this generation.
