Best car I have ever owned
We bought our 2006 Nissan Pathfinder brand new, drove it off the showroom floor. Six months later our 20 year old daughter was driving it and over corrected on a turn. She went head on with a light pole and walked away with only a scratch from the air bag. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am that even though she killed the light pole, she walked away. Thank you Nissan for such a great, safe vehicle.

Good Value
Compared to other mid-sized SUV's, the Pathfinder has good overall value. Seating and rear space room is average at best. It's appears to be well-built, solid construction. Engine does roar a bit upon acceleration but has good performance for a 4000-lb vehicle. No mechanical problems yet warranting service.

Very Good Truck
I'm about to end my lease with the LE Fully loaded, with Wood Grain Dash, 6 Cd changer, leather seats, DVD player and more.I'm thinking twice on returning it. I may just buy it. I've been very happy with the truck. It is very reliable, the handle feels like a sports car. The only issue I had with it was the Gas needle. For some reason, My car would be full of gas but the needle would be below Empty. On the other hand, YES YES YES. This is a great buy!

As good as Japan has to offer
My first foriegn made vehicle is a Nissan Pathfinder LE. I like the truck over all but it has some quirky 4x4 things. Buzzy and clicking when in 4x4. Sounds like plastic parts nashing as the need goes back and fourth between 2 and 4 wheel drive. Very good in heavy truck traffic. Not alot of wind wash felt on long trips. Handles well off road in snow but supplied tires lack ice and snow grip. (Mud also). Since i dont haul cattle, wood, or rocks with it the 4x4 its perfect for getting the family to and from where ever. Thats why i bought it. The interior is not designed for tall people. The short seat bottoms are brutal. The gauges are decent but not spectacular. The engine is spectacular with almost 25 mile to gallon on long trips. About 18 around town. I would recomend this vehicle to anyone looking to get out of suburban or expedition. About 33% less out of pocket every month. However youll never get that room back and you will miss it. The pickup and power is there even better than a full size. However I tow nothing. I dont suggest you load this Nissan with too many folks the rear suspension will bottom out over tracks bumps and chuck holes.

After my lease expired, I decided to buy my path
Over the last 2 years, more than 35,000 miles, lot of hills, snow, rain and kids. Looks like new, so beautifull and powerfull. Only gas and have fun. After my lease expired I decided to buy. I do not want to let it go. Still smell like new.

Compared to the rest, the best
I have owned my 2006 SE with the premium and confort package for four months. We purchased it over the other similar SUVs because it had the most powerfull V-6 engine in its class. We have a small travel trailer weighing about 3,000 lbs and pulled it to Lake Tahoe with only 2,000 breakin miles on the car. Our Pathfinder is the standard SE two-wheel drive but came with the trailer hitch, harness and tranny cooler. It has the economy 3.13 rear axle. It pulled the trailer over the mountains and around the curves with ease and control. With the trailer we averaged 15.5 mpg on the trip and without the trailer we are averaging 16 city and 20-22 on the freeway. Again not bad compared to the alternitive SUVs. We also liked all the options that came with the premium package like the Bose radio, sun roof and side impact air bags. The interior has the basic cloth seats but is comfortible and roomy. The second row seats are very roomy and we also found the third row seats to be the roomyist off all the mid-sized seven passenger SUV's. This is a great all-purpose vehical with a great blend of performance, comfort and versitility for a very reasonable price, especially when compared with the equivilent SUV alternitives. We feel we can carry our kids and grandkids safely (vehical stability control is standard) and in comfort. Time will tell on the overall reliability and quality but, so far, we have seen no signs of any problems. I would recommend this vehical to anyone.

Don't buy if you are planning on a family
I entered into a lease on a Pathfinder about a year ago. My wife was pregnant at the time and we thought it would be a good family car. However, with the baby now three months old, we are starting to travel. We have found that it is extremely tight and uncomfortable ride for the front passanger with the baby seat behind it. So if you think an SUV is necessary when your family expands, think twice and take a baby seat car shopping, you will be surprised to find out how poorly mid-size SUVs are designed.

LOVE IT! LOVE IT!
I have read reviews of people complaining about the handling and steering and all I can say is I think they are nuts! For a large vehicle it has a pretty tight turn radius. I just got my Pathfinder recently after 6 months of looking at every SUV on the market and the Pathfinder is the only one that I got my money worth. Not to mention my dealer was GREAT! I have 3 children and wasn't able to get a sitter on delivery day so my sales guy looked after them while I was finishing paperwork. The entire experience has been great! SARATOGA NISSAN is great, in NY and want a Nissan check them out Exit 13S of I-87. My husband is even considering a Pathfinder of his own!
