Normal for new cars?

Back in 2014 bought a brand new versa. The car itself seems to be okay for what you pay for. However there are a couple problems that you do not expect from a new car. This makes me wonder about other cars Nissan produces, and scares me to buy another Nissan. Both of my trunk lights have fallen out (the clip broke) I do not know how this happens I'm guessing from repetitive opening and closing of the truck, but thats what its made for... so poor construction... In my dash board, something has gotten loose and continues to rattle, again a brand new car.... again poor construction.... The most unsettling thing about the car is the CVT transmission which has made my car stutter and stop on multiple occasions. They did a recall on the car giving everyone a free CVT transmission upgrade meaning they did not do the necessary testing to be able to safely sale a car.... poor construction and a big miss on their part. positives: It receives good gas mileage, but with problems at 50K miles i wonder what will happen at 100, 150, and beyond... I bought the gold package and all other warranties that come with this car... non of the above problems are covered in the warranty.... so much for a piece of mind...

Bigger than I thought

We got this for our daughter and it is much more spacious than we anticipated. A good first car for a young adult!

Great commuter car

I bought the SV version with CVT transmission for commuting 72 miles everyday. After 2 years of driving I have been very satisfied with this car. If you buy cars as a statement of "who you are" and expect your car to be "fun to drive" then maybe this car is not for you. But if you're pragmatic about car ownership and want a reliable, safe and economical means of transportation then look no further. Let's just jump right into the stats: I do mostly highway driving and get ~43 mpg in the summer and ~42 mpg in the winter. The car has plenty of pep to pass cars on highways. I don't drive like a grandma but I also don't try to "beat" the car next to me every time I start from a light. I've owned the following cars in the past: Honda civic 99, neon 2008, dodge dakota 2004, mitsubishi eclipse. Versa handles better than all except the eclipse, of course, but it does handle very well in the snow, which was a surprise to me. I guess the Electronic stability control does its job. The car has more interior space than one would imagine for a subcompact. The engineers who designed the interior pulled off a miracle in my opinion. I put two kids car seats in the back and still have plenty of leg room in the front for me and the passenger (I'm 5'10' by the way) The car has performed flawlessly so far. I change oil myself every 7000 to 8000 miles. Assuming it continues to perform this reliably I see myself buying a versa again. Oh, and I love the CVT transmission compared to every automatic trans. I've ever experienced...totally smooth.

Buy A Different Car Trust Me

This car overall had the cool slick look to it and being a gas saver, yes thats one good feature, but dont let that fool you, this car is so cheaply made i found that out after having it for 1yr now that everything seems to come apart, break, or be a royal pain in the butt to deal with, for one their is no key locks on the passenger door, my driving mirrors are hand manual and the backing to the nob has fallen inside the casing itself, my window tint is bubbling, my air vent clip had fallen into the unit itself and now it wont stay open, the seats are cheap as ever it eats dirt and whatever rubs up against it, the steering wheel is starting to peal, the car itself is a magnet for static and likes to collect everything like its a sticker wall, the tires that come with it are cheap, my radio went out today as we speak, it turns on but no sound, and with that to top it off , now my air bag light is flashing letting me know my air bags are not connected which they are, their is only 2 speakers in the car i guess they didn't find it important to make a car with 2 in the back since they have units for them, the floor carpet is thin and cheap so get some good mats that don't slide or you will have no carpet, and i could go on and on but hey i'm 26 and at the time i wanted a new car and was impatient and hey look what it got me a some what pile of garbage. ohhh and to top it off after buying it like 4 months down the road, i found out that nissan has the highest car insurance their is for any basic dealer ship,,, ain't that a load of garbage. and i didnt mention everything else i just got tired of typing and thinking about everything thats wrong... smh.. Nissan U Got Me "U Win" P.S. Go Look up the crash test for one of these cars,, I about fell out of my seat when i seen it hit a wall at 30 miles ,,, it basically peals the car back.

Worst Car Your Money Can Buy

Avoid this car at all the cost. This is the worst car your money can buy. It lacks basic features. Better pay a grand more and get Hyundai.

Great little car

I just got my 2014 Versa two weeks ago and I LOVE IT! It is great on gas. It drives smooth, has really great turn radius and the headlights are very bright. The price was great and my monthly payments are low too. I have to say I am really happy with my decision to buy this car.

poor interior design

I have owned Subaru's for 11 years but recently had the occasion to rent a Versa Note. The interior design was not to my liking. The fold up/down driver's arm rest was too small to really be useable and the cup holders were in inconvenient places forward and under the dash and under the fold down drivers arm rest. It did get good mileage - 33 in town based on the computer but I've always found them to read higher mileage than what you actually get when "doing the math". The car was noisy and after I got back in my Forester I realized how solid, quiet and comfortable it is. I realize these two cars aren't in the same class and the Forester cost thousands more so to be fair the Note may suit many people on a tight budget just looking for an economical and maybe commuter car.

Great Little car

Bought this for graduate school and commuting. I have been very impressed. I have over 7500 miles and my gas average is 36.4. The interior could use some work but for the price its hard to complain. It does great on road trips. My only complaint with Nissan was that they offered no roof rack for this car.
