not a bad option for an inexpensive import 4wd
Bought from the original owner...only had to put a little into the vehicle for my everyday use...Averaging 90 miles a day...Installed a tow hitch...underpowered for what I need but a good buy and good vehicle overall...

Can't find anything worth replacing it with...
I have owned my 2000 Xterra since the summer of 1999. XE, V6, 5 speed manual, 155,ooo miles (currently). She has been such a great truck, I can't seem to bear parting with her. I've recently had to do some major repairs, but that's expected with a vehicle this "old". Had to replace the brakes and rotors, mass air flow sensor, distributor, alternator, exhaust manafold, and even a blown head gasket!!! Now that all that has been fixed, she's like new again! Only thing left is the leaking rear main, but I wont tackle that until my clutch goes out (still have the original). Yeah, MPG isn't the greatest, 17.5 average, but I can't seem to find anything worth replacing her with.

2006 toyota sienna LE
I've bought it used with 18000 miles. Among other great performances, help me rescue my wife and son both working at JFK airport during an intense paraslizing snow storm.

If you need a car, you could do worse.
The 4wd has a nasty habit of making a noise like a lawnmower, and the brakes are prone to rusting out. But still, it's a fun drive and repairs are relatively cheap. Just don't count on it to last forever, but it'll get you there. No overheating, no electrical issues, steering and transmission held up.

Most fun car I've owned
Loved this car. I'm a mom of all boys and it accommodated our sporty lifestyle. There was also room in the back for our dog. Great car for explorers.

Drove from OR to AK and back 7000k in one trip.
I have had this rig since new and it is worth every penny. I have had a few long trips and never had to worry about the reliability or performance of my xterra. Only thing is I wish the back seats full laid flat. There is a bump that makes it hard to lay flat when I sleep in it. Other than that it is perfect!

Cheaper than a Toyota
I bought this because it was thousands less than a comparable 4 Runner. It had 139k on it and has 206k on it now. The check engine light on due to fuel injector that acts up now and then but drive it 106 miles a day and it keeps going. It leaks some oil and radiator support about rotted away but I paid 3100.00 for it and its givem me 3yrs and counting so can't complain. Cheap alternative to a Toyota or Honda but not as well built.

Excellent reliability
I have had this car for about 5 years now. The only thing i had to do in that time is change the alternator. Only flaw is gas mileage.

2000 xterra v6 3.3
I bought my X on Halloween 1999, It has done everything I have asked it to do. been thru white out snow on slick roads over sierras, four wheeling in highcountry. It is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned, the gas isn't the best ,but it is a 4000 pound steel frame tank.I love driving it.I have slept in the back,my son drove it to college for two years. It has 156000 miles and runs strong.I like my x better than the new ones.I cannot see myself ever getting rid of it. I feel safe in it. It is a solid truck. carl

tough truck for those needing an offroader
i have had my x for almost a year now and not much wrong so far, it has 155,000 miles on it now and had 144,000 when i bought it. the starter died, factory 13 years old so didnt surprise me, the distributer also went out 2 months later but once again a factory part so after seeing that didnt surprise me, its got moving parts and moving parts fail eventually. but i have found out i am not good at mods as every mod i have done to this truck caused issues. such as "fixing" the sunroof noise caused it to leak(now fixed with silicone) and trying to rig up my own battery hold down left me on the side of the road. but so far no issues from the manufacture process of this car just things that eventually wear out that have had to be replaced and preventative care. and the other things that have broken or leaked were of my doing from trying to fix what wasnt broke. great truck deserved its motor trend truck of the year award!
