fits me like a glove
I rented a lot of cars in the early to mid 2000's while on business travel and found the new Grand Ams fit my body type and lifestyle the best. I'm able to fit all my "toys" in or on it and on long trips I don't suffer any sort of fatique other than the tips of my elbows get sore, but that is easily fixed by a sweatshirt or towel when travelling cross country. I've owned a previous Grand AM that has 308K miles on her and she's been to the west coast from NY 12 times. I hope to treat this one with TLC to let her last even longer.

Great Used cars
Watch for head gasket, intake gasket leaks. If you smell something "sweet" or over heat, expect head gasket. If its running too cold, ex. "under direct center on heat gauge" by a lot, they removed the thermostat to hide head gasket leaks. Parts are cheap, great car for first drivers!

Going To Miss This One When It Goes...
Bought this car from a scrap yard with over 200k on it for $600CAD. It needed front wheel bearings, brakes and a section of brake line replaced and it was on the road. I've driven it now for 2 years and we're at 308k. I'm still commuting 150klms per day with it. Regular oil changes and patching of a few rust spots is all I've done so far. Never any starting isues no matter how cold it gets. If it weren't for the rockers rusting out this thing would easily see 400k. It just won't quit. Fuel mileage is great... 750klms a week costs me 40 bucks. When this one finally goes. It will go still running and I will miss it dearly.

Pontiac Grand AM Gt
Is a good car. Except for dash material that is not good, bend upward with the heat, the ignition switch give problems.

Great Small American Car
Bought this car used in 2008 with about 53k on it - great second car for a starter family. Not the roomiest car, but it is a compact after all. Good on mileage, and with the proper upkeep, you can go years without any repairs needed. Had the V6 which helped with New England winters, but watch out, this car can slip in really bad storms, but even after plowing into a snowbank it still didn't affect the car at all. Finally had to give it up around 135k because the transmission cut out completely, but it was my own fault for not having it checked around 100k - learned my lesson there! Would hightly recommend to anyone needing a comfy commuter car!

great
i bought my car in 2003 it was a leased car before that other than some minor repair ie water pump, thermostat ect I have had no problems with this car. I have found that it does take some tlc to keep it going well but I have given it that. this is not a car that can be drove hard and put away wet. it does run like a champ with 1500,000+ miles on it.

Car died and left me stranded 3 times.
My husband let me drive this car for a year and it died on me three different times. I drove about 120 miles each weekend and put over 2,000 dollars into the car constantly repairing and maintaining the car. We had to completely rebuild the engine, fix the hoses more than once and finally fix the starter. The most expensive car I have ever driven. The seats are super comfortable and when the engine is running properly it's great fun to drive.
