AWESOME SUV. LUXURY LUXURY SEL R LINE

Don’t listen to the complainers. It’s a great SUV!! This is my 2nd cross port. 1st was 2020 SEL tech pkg. now I opted for the SEL R Line. Car is great. It’s comfortable it’s classy the interior with the ambient lighting takes it up a few notches. Has all the safety options needed and more including the heads up display. Everything is pricey today so definitely not cheap. But the retuned engine is appreciated compared to the previous 4 cyl. Wish it was better fuel economy but not a deal breaker. The car is roomy organized and thought out of placing the more frequent “buttons” handy. The entire vehicle has been redone. Structurally the same but almost everything is a new! It’s been a week with the new model - looks like an Audi but more impressive than one. LOVE IT!!!

Knobless

Seat and seat back are too soft for me and there is no functional lumbar support where I need it. The biggest problem is how limited the opportunity is for the driver to keep their eyes on the road. This 2024 redesign of the Cross Sport is a mistake on the part of VW. It's not autonomous driving but designed as if it is. Functions are selected from an infotainment screen that requires looking away from the road. There are no redundant knobs even to control the radio so it's necessary to fidget with tuning and creating/selecting presets instead of staying in one's lane. The climate control blows cold air even when in the mid- to high 70's and there's only one option to not have cold air blowing constantly. I had it on 80 degrees and only for a few seconds was heat directed at my feet but no heat coming out of the vents. It's erratic. The 2024 model had a ground clearance reduction from 8" to 6.3". There is conventional cruise control as well as ACC but it's not documented in the manual and the dealers don't even know about it (press the button on the end of shift lever and scroll down past ACC.) This way you won't slow down when it's unnecessary, lengthening a trip. Messages come and go in a flash. There's only time to see the first 2 words. Worried about having an accident because it's impossible to stay in a lane and be using a computer screen at the same time which is necessary. The 2024 has 4 cylinders down from 6 but fuel economy doesn't seem improved. It's a little nosier. Tiptronic mode is tricky, going from S to M using the paddle shifters after moving the nub shifter forward again from Drive (D/S.) The rear seats do fold totally flat and that is not the case with moar cars which is big plus for me. And the car has a spacious feel. The SE trim doesn't help with parking and it's not clear how far back the car can go without hitting another. To be sure I get out to check how much room I have. The brake pedal comes out farther than on the Tiguan and Atlas and my ankle gets exhausted because the heal can't stay in one place and pivot between the pedals. Driving on conventional cruise control where the driver controls the speed helps but in slow traffic the pedals must be used. I found ACC annoying. I was dropping too much speed when a car too far ahead of me to matter would slow even slightly. I bought the car for the luxurious amount of space with the rear seats down but this futuristic change, going knobless, is something to seriously consider if you can get by with a rear seat that doesn't fold flat and is on an incline. I'm leasing and will drive less because driving is so uncomfortable for me and most of my time is spent trying to scroll through the menu to adjust temp and find a radio station. Had 2 Tiguans before and they were a totally different experience but VW made it menu driven also, Not as bad as the Cross Sport however. Would not lease another. Hope I don't go over a cliff in this car. This car takes too much control and function from the driver. Buying a 2023 would put more control in the driver's hands. The 2024 is first redesign of the Cross Sport. Suspect VW will change this model again for 2025. If you're listening VW, please restore knobs!

If you want to stretch your dollar, go with the VW

Best car in its segment. Exceptional value. Second one I've owned and have had a total of 0 problems with each of them. The amount of space and drivability for the price truly sets it apart from its competitors

Worst car ever!

Worst car I’ve ever owned. Sold after 4 1/2 months and 1575 miles. Only two days without error or warning lights on dash. No replacement parts available for warranty repairs and VW cares warranty department is a joke!
