Dope Car! Word up, the bomb!!
Love this car. It’s drives well. I have owned for two years and it’s very reliable and affordable to maintain. It’s always fun to drive. Great cargo room. Great stereo and audio features. Great gas mileage. I really really love it. Best car ever. I have had outback’s, Prius, accords, civics, and carollos and this car is the best. So happy with it. I am waiting for a new fresher model to come out but not in a rush.

Great example of a disappearing breed.
We are unabashed fans of station wagons built on sport sedan platforms, and we are distressed to see this best-of-all-worlds configuration disappearing from the US market, even though it remains deservedly popular in Europe. We bought a 2016 Sportwagen one year ago; our other car is a 2001 VW Passat wagon, which we plan to keep running as long as we reasonably can. The Sportwagen excels on fuel efficiency, handles very well, and offers more-than-adequate performance. Although it is almost as large outside as the Passat, it offers noticeably less usable cargo volume, albeit still sufficient for most purposes. Sideward and rearward visibility are better than average, but no match for the Passat wagon, which is almost unbeatable in this category. Styling is elegantly clean, simple, and timeless. We have had no problems yet, and we happily note that the engine has a generous 6 qt. oil capacity, versus the Passat's 3.7 qts., which I expand to 4.25 by using an oversized Mann oil filter. The larger oil capacity should reduce the incidence of infamous oil "sludge" (technically, baked-on coke). German cars offer a superb driving experience, but they need to be maintained fastidiously; they do not thrive on neglect the way a Toyota might.

Most fun car I've owned. Many gears to chose from.
I am Six feet. So, there isn't really any leg room in the passenger seats. It is a good wagon for two people and a big load of gear such as camping. I have slept in it. will have to fashion screens for the windows for air circulation. The camera is a very good feature as is the TPM system. I like knowing when to schedule service.

Fantastic car that provides more than most
I've owned this Sportwagen for over a year now, and I love it. I fit more inside the car than some pickup trucks can offer. The ride is very comfortable and I have not had a single issue with it since purchase! Perfect for long weekend trips for skiing, camping, the lot! Very nice ground clearance, never bottomed out, even on dirt roads with rough spots.

Love it
I keep finding new things about my car that show the attention to function VW put into the design. Hidden storage drawer under the driver seat, back seat release from the tailgate to name a few. All on top of a car that runs and handles well and gets good gas mileage

Quality of design, through and through
I bought this car new and for the following few weeks was continually discovering design elements that really just surprised and delighted me. The design just feels integrated and well-accomplished. The surfaces are quality—especially for a vehicle in this price point. The tech is amazing (Apple CarPlay, adaptive cruise control, brake-assist, etc) and the engine and handling on the vehicle are superb. I experienced an accident in this car as well, that should have been worse than it was, when a car pulled out in front of me at around 40mph—resulting in only cosmetic damage. The car performed admirably and is obviously very well-built. After 58,000 miles, and experiencing absolutely no mechanical issues, great gas mileage, and a whole lot of practicality and enjoyable driving—I've made up my mind that for its intended purpose, this is one of the best cars ever designed.

Great car. Excellent gas mileage. Lots of cargo
I have only had this car a few weeks, but so far I love it. Ours has a manual transmission. For a car of its size, it gets amazing mileage if you drive it gently. We got 46 mpg on a recent HW trip of 300 miles. It is capable of towing my little trailer and my sailboat, and with the addition of a roof box on top, it has huge amounts of cargo space. Nice simple interior features. Comfortable.

Best value ever!
Got this vehicule since early 2016. Usually after three years, I’m bored of my vehicle and I want to change. Not this time. I love the car like in the first week. Had no problem with it, extremely fun to drive, plenty of space cargo and look great. Best value ever.

Absolutely love this vehicle
I should start by stating I have made some tasteful modifications to this car. Sport tunned Coilovers, ECU tune, Turbo back exhaust and an intake. This car is absolutely amazing. I'm currently making 227 whp and 267 tq on a factory clutch without incident. The 1.8 came alive with the Unitronic Stage 1+ tune and fuel mileage has actually gotten considerably better. Now getting 37mpg on average. Amazing vehicle with nearly unlimited potential.
