A car for those who love to drive
When you buy a car, wouldnt it make sense to get the brand that gives you everything in the standard model. I love the fact that VW has heated seats, traction control, 12 airbags, primeium floor mats, 3 way adjustable seats, xeon lights and more standard. I wanted to fall in love with the car I bought. When I drove the GTI, I did just that.

Love my 4-door GTI!!
I replaced a flawless Lexus GS430 w/64k miles w/ a fully loaded 07 4door GTI, and could not be happier! I think that speaks for itself! My kids love the 4 door model "plenty of space for a family of 4", I love the fun of driving again, especially the DSG gearbox, and my wife just loves the car in general. I honestly look forward to the commutes with this marvel of a car. Build quality is very good (not a Lexus though, but not much is). No rattles (41k miles), no problems. True, you do have to keep up with the maintenance on these cars if you want longevity, but that shouldn't surprise anyone. Buying a CPO model is a fantastic way to go! Used car price with new car coverage (and reconditioning as part of CPO process). Go drive one, you'll be hooked instantly!

Pretty Happy
The GTI is a fun little car. I love the comparatively luxurious ride and interior, and it's fairly zippy around town. And it's handy too. I was surprised when I was able to move an 8 foot ladder in it the other day, with the hatch closed. My only disappointments are the sluggish acceleration and the gas mileage. (I'm only getting 17-19 mpg.) Not awful, but not what I expected for either. I've only had it a couple of months, but no problems yet, other than the bass on the stereo going crazy once in awile.

Great
Best car I have ever owned. For the price you will not find a more luxurious ride that can take you to 60 in 6.5 seconds, while the seat heaters take care of your bottom and the 10 speakers entertain you.

Love it
This is my 2nd GTI and have had no problems so far. It handles very well and is fun to drive. Fuel mileage is great and the turbo adds to the fun factor.

Definitely draws attention
Great car. Only slight issues with leather on driver seat already showing wearing from getting in and out. BUT, love it, best car I have owned. Fun, fast, zips right through tight traffic with a smooth ride. Consistent mpg 27 - 32!

Most fun car I have ever driven
I am traditionally a motorcycle guy who only owned a car for the winter months, but I must say that this GTI is the best car I have ever owned. It is fuel efficient, roomy (I am a large person), practical and powerful. If you are in the market for a new hatchback you must check this one out. I find myself taking the long way home to keep driving, something that I frequently do on a bike, but never did in a car.

An absolute BLAST!!!
First, I must tell you I had an inherent bias in favor of this car. See, back in '83, I owned one of the first-year GTI's, and spent more time grinning than I did at the Mel Brooks Film Festival. It was incredible fun to drive... even though it was not massively powered. I was about due to get a new car, when I read some reviews about the 2007 GTI, saying they had recaptured, for the first time, the spirit of those magical '83's. And so, I decided to test drive one. Oh. My. God. This car is fast, fun, and absolutely responsive...and a rocket. With many cars these days, you have to plan your attack on traffic, waiting for the right moment to make a move. With the new GTI, you think it, and the sweet sensitive steering and enormously powerful engine have you where you thought about going. It is this instantaneous responsiveness that creates the driving magic. The car winds up feeling and acting like an extension of the driver, rather than a machine being operated by a driver. Then add in the Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG), which lets you play formula one with the paddle shifters, or just leave it in drive. Finally, add in Sirius Satellite Radio and an integrated iPod connector, and you cam probably drive around the world without getting bored with the entertainment. (Of course if you did, you could just shut them both off and listen to the music coming from the engine bay.) And the seats are so comfortable, (I just went round trip form central Jersey to Boston this weekend) you could drive in them for that distance and not be siff or fatigued. A few details.. the steering wheel is a gem. Leather wrapped with perfectly placed bulges to wrap your thumbs around. And, a feature I've long expected, but have seen here for the first time... power windows, with one-touch down and UP. If driving is more than just a means of getting from point A to point B, if you really enjoy driving, this car is for you. But only take one for a test drive if you are ready to buy one, because if you aren't, you'll find yourself selling the kids to get one of these babies. I bought one, and I'm incredibly happy with it.
