2012 Jetta TDI Premium Package

Great gas mileage! Exterior has sleek and clean styling this is what caught my eye; lots of options for the money. Have had this car to dealer several times for rattles; they fix one and another starts; and they seem to be weather related; due to lots of plastic. On my very 1st road trip to mountains the back window starting rattling; and continued the entire trip; this turned out to be 1st of many. I cannot get use to the corky transmission. I have almost 13,000 miles on the vehicle; a new rattle began this week in front dash. I would not buy another Jetta; I have learned that the Jetta is assembled in Mexico. I think VW has cheaped the car down. I always thought of German engineering when it came to VW. I looked at VW's for years before purchasing one; I am disappointed.

VW Jetta

I recently purchased a 2012 VW Jetta. I am very happy with my purchase. I feel very safe in the car and am enjoying the sun roof, leather seats, satellite radio. I would recommend this car to anyone who is looking for luxury at budget pricing.

Looked for a prius and bought a jetta

I'm so glad that the local Toyota Dealer responded negatively to my request for an affordable Prius. It prompted me to look for a different dealership. I looked at VW and found a car I love and got a great deal. I would recommend a VW Jetta. Love that German engineering.

Diesel's Rule

This car is fantastic, bought it for my wife to drive to work. 35 miles each way, she says it is very comfortable and easy to drive. it looks good and feels like a german car, she is averaging 48 mpg on the freeway, great features a lot of options. the diesel is VW's baby right now and it is performing flawlessly. if there was one thing that could be better it would be the leathurette seats they should be real leather like in the audi but then the price would be a grand higher. for the money it is a great value as the diesel is about 4 grand more than the gasser, well worth it.

Surprised VW Owner

I never thought the VW would be for me, but after driving it I fell in love! The GLI is fast, sporty, but still a reliable four door sedan! The interior is gorgeous and sleek. The VW is fully loaded and has very modern technology inside. The Fender Radio is amazing. A lot of car for a very competitive price!

Absolutely love the model, I just hate mine

I researched my new car for a long time since it was going to be my first new car in 15 years. I decided on the Jetta TDI with Premium package, and got a good deal from a dealership an hour from me. But when I picked up the car, the "check engine" light was on. The car spent 18 of the first 30 days I owned int in the dealership as they tried to figure out what was causing it. VW eventually settled on replacing the car, which will take several months. I'm still driving the original one while I wait, and it is great (average 45 mpg) and fun to drive. But it is plagued with transient electrical issues like seat belt indicator randomly chiming and the cruise control not operational. Hopefully the replacement will be free of issues, and then it will be a perfect car.

Lots of rattles

I love the look and feel of my new 2012 Jetta. It handles and rides great. I could do without the constant rattles. I am constantly trying to find the next rattle. Lots of plastic used in the interior which leads to lots of rattles. The rattles are frquent enough and annoying enough that I would not buy the Jetta if I had it to do over. This is my first VW and will probably be my last. I am disspointed in my new car.

Jetta Sportwagon TDI

I traded my golf TDI for the Sportwagon TDI to get more space. I had the Golf TDI for 16 months and absolutely loved the diesel performance. I averaged 45 mpg. So far the Jetta Wagon is getting about 40mpg, but is hardly broken in. The wagon is spacious and had a variety of nooks and crannies to store small items. I have so far loved its performance with the DSG Both cars have the same bluetooth phone connection that allows for voice dialing and handsfree talking. The Sirius sat radio is great with a great interface. The direct iPod connection is awesome.

2012 VW Jetta TDI Sportwagon

After ten years of Jetta TDI success, we chose the 2012 Jetta Sportwagon to commute 50 miles each way daily from the mountains DOWN to Denver. With the 6 speed it downshifts to hold on downgrades and easily climbs up to 9300 feet going home. MPG is way above 40 commuting and approaches 50 mpg on the flats when traveling. Creature comforts are spartan without full power seat movement and memory positions as options. Fog lights would help keep deer and elk off the hood, and a 4WD option would be assuring on the snow. But after commuting all week on a tank of fuel it is still ahead of the alternatives and has adequate hauling capacity for a long trip.
