Explore the 2004 Volkswagen New Beetle

I bought a brand VW Beetle, brand new in 2004.

I bought a brand VW Beetle, brand new in 2004. I paid $22,000 for it. Twenty years later, I’m still driving it. It now has 52,000 miles on it and I’ve only had to do general maintenance. (Oil changes and batteries) It’s still like new!!! Leather heated seats, moon roof, and it’s bright red in color. I love this little bug. It’s fun to drive.

The most fun to drive car I have ever owned

My kids love to ride in this car , I love having a 5 speed manual transmission again , i would not say this 1.9 L 4 cyl is fast but it is very quick and nibble and really give you the feeling that you are zooming. I think it looks cool with both the top up (and all windows down) or with top down. Everywhere I go people comment on how good she looks. I great way to get a fun convertible for summer fun with out breaking the bank.

What a fun & cute car

My daughters first car. She loved driving it. A few times my hubby had to drive it and he said it was fun and zippy. The convertible was great on sunny days. Regular maintenance keeps this vehicle running smooth.

This car need to have a recall for the trans haser

There is a problem with the transmission system switch ,it is not allowing the transmission to shift gears correctly and it is a safety issue. I won't let my wife drive the car do to its behavior with the transmission. It shifts erratically on its own.

Best Bank for my Buck I ever had.

I love this car. It was good for me. It drives really well, has manual drive, a moonroof, a spoiler. It was fun, but it was also just really reliable. I loved having a small car to fit in any parking space, and squeeze by in traffic. And I loved how bright and happy it was in general.

Funnest car I've ever owned

In 1983, I had a 1975 Beetle and loved it. When I started a family, I reluctantly sold it for something bigger. When the new beetles came out, I wanted one so bad but couldn't afford one at the time. 2 weeks ago i, out of nowhere, put my Toyota Camry for sale and sold it in 6 hours. I had been shopping for a beetle I could afford and found a 2004 Beetle Convertible in cream with cream interior and tan top. I absolutely LOVE this car. I wake up everyday excited about driving it. I put carlashes on it and it is so cute people are always complimenting it. It's a 5 speed manual transmission with lots of zip in it. It handles great and is a smooth ride for such a small car. It's visually appealing and cute as heck. This is the funnest car I've ever owned.

Good Price

Price is do-able. I will possibly buy it soon enough. Within 2 weeks or so. Seems like a good enough car to get me from A to B.

Great Driving Car

This car looks good, corners and brakes very well and is very comfortable. Wheel bearings need to be checked often, pretty typical in all VW's and Audi's. The Turbo engine has plenty of pep while being pretty efficient! Paint fit and finish is excellent for a 14 year old car.

Fun to Drive but expensive to own

I have always loved the way VW's drive. I have owned 4. Performance and Handling is incredible and unmatched for the money. However, you have to take some of the money you save and spend it on maintenance. Be sure to use an experienced VW mechanic or be prepared to learn and buy all new tools! The in warranty experience was great, post warranty experience is still good just more expensive.
