Nice car with a great gas milage

Too many repairs to list, very expensive replacement parts. This car is for a person who has some extra money and time. Will never ever buy a VW again.

Worst car I've ever owned

We originally bought a VW because we wanted better gas mileage and emissions. Yes, we saved money in gas but we've spent much more on repairs than we ever thought possible. The car had 42k miles on it when we bought it and now the engine is gone a mere 45k miles later. It had a certified warranty with purchase and we had 21 warranty repairs before the engine went out. And if you're looking for a car with cheaper replacement parts, consider something else. Even VW sparkplugs are $16 a piece! It only gets worse from there. This is definitely a model/year to avoid.

Wow

I got my hands on a used GLX 4 Motion, the features are astonishing. It has more features in a 2001 than most new cars do. Phenomenal car and value. Repairs cost more at any dealership! Shop around, you did before you purchased the car.

In the shop all the time

I love the car except for the fact that it is in the shop all the time. I've replaced 4 out of the 10 computer modules, experienced "engine sludge", and countless other small repairs. If the car did not cost some much to repair and wasn't in the shop all the time, I'd say it was the best. I'm now shppping for more reliability as the computer control modules cost between $1,000 - $1,500 each!

LOVE THIS CAR!

I bought my Certified PreOwned Passat in December 2004. It is solid, safe and such a pleasure to drive especially on long trips. The standard features on this car are incredible. My car has had one repair which was completely covered by the great CPO two year warranty. I have become a German car convert. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner.

VW Owner for life

When I purchased this car it had 4 owners before me. After A good cleaning and spending a little money at a VW dealer people ask me if the car is new. VW and german cars all together may be more expensive but worth every penny...I have become a German car owner for life...

Expenisive to repair

I just paid $1400 for a catalytic converter, 200 for an o2 sensor plus labor and have been told the other catalytic converter will go out soon and it costs $1000. My car was in the shop for 9 days waiting for parts and diagnosis..I will now sell it. I am astonished a the price I had to pay to repair this 2001 vehicle.
