2008 R32 is a fine car

I have owned a 2008 R32 for 18 months and have had no issues. The car runs/drives perfect. The value of the car is holding better than most other cars on the market.

Love my R32

I have always liked R32's and finally broke down and bought a used one, it is everything I expected. It has all of the Audi A4 trimmings with the VW R32 performance

75K on my 2008 R32 and I STILL Smile

I drive 100 miles a day to work and back and bought this care brand new. This car STILL puts a smile one my face everytime! Are the EVO and STI faster, yes, but this is a GT car and it is has the best style than those boy racers. The cars sounds amazing, everything just fits perfectly. The heated leather seats, the Porsche steering wheel, everything. I still get kids and people coming up to be raving abuut the car. I bought my wife a 08 335i, but I prefer driving the VW when we go out. The only two issues I have with the car are no power seats and a NAV/Ipod system that should have been upgraded before the car was released. Not the best but still very functional. Hey, if you can pick one up used...DO IT!

Great fun ride

Love the car as a daily driver - with AWD is will be great in the snow etc so I can keep my BMW 135i safe and sound. Fun quick and great on gas for the fun factor.

If you like VWs, you'll love this car. It is fast, handles well, comfortable. I do think the previous monsoon stereo system was superior. Still, I love the car. Have owned it for 5K miles with 26000 on the car to date. No issues so far. I love it. Driving is fun again.

If you think this is performance, Think Again

I bought a 2008 R32 brand new for 35k. After two years ownership I'm glad to say I traded it for an STI. Why? For the same price of the R32, I have an STI that's roomier, much more reliable, better handling, and light-years ahead of the R32 in terms of performance. I though that 0-60 in 6 seconds was fast, but my STI does it in under 5 sec. and cost the same money as the R32. I'll neer go back to VW for anything again. If you want true performance do some research and you'll find plenty of better cars than the R32. If you want to play pretend, buy a poseur-mobile like the R32.

Good buy.

Very good all around car.Fun to drive in the summer and a blast for the winter with winter tires on. Looks small , so it is easy to park , but has lts of space inside with rear seats down. Great tranny ,sharp steering, nice roar when pushed hard. Can't think of a better car for the money.

Over priced automatic

I had to have this car when it came out. I ordered one... What a let down. I hope to trade it in in the near future. The 2008 R32 is a well-appointed car. Its interior is unrivaled for the price. However, this car is not a "performance" car by any stretch of the imagination. Comparing it to the Mitsu EVO or Subaru STI (or the WRX) is comparing apples to oranges. These are performance cars - and I would have no problem driving coast to coast in any of these three cars - especially the new generations. I The car is over priced for what you get. If you want high end AWD and performance - go with a Subaru. If you want reliability, I wouldn't go the VW direction. I had a 2003 GTI and it was a LEMON! If you want a fun, reasonably priced car, beautifully appointed interior wise, but don't need more than 200 bhp, buy a new 2010 GTI. That car is worth the money.

For all of those saying that the car is slow well it is 0-60 for 5.8 sec and quarter mile of 14.4 using the launch control isn't the best for the price, but all of those people forget something. This is a GT car not a rally one. This is the ideal car to go from one coast to the other being very comfy and have fun at the same time. Try to do that in a STI or EVO :D. The DSG is boring at times but much better than a manual in traffic, my other ride is a stick shift Maxima. The rev matching of the DSG makes the car do an insane sound when downshifting and i have had many compliments from my neighbor driving G37! No I wouldn't pay the full price of the car as new, but for the price that they could be found at the moment it is a real bargain! When driven normally I get about 22-23mpg ones I even did 29.2, but lets be realistic who buys such a car to get that kind of millage? It is been reliable too, just don't use Citco gasoline!
