Fun to Drive Absolutely Reliable

No car is more fun to drive that this little VW. I owned a 1976 Rabbit and drove it for 180K plus miles. I owned a 1991 Golf and drove it for 16 years before someone ran into it. I expect to drive my 2008 stick for at least that long. It's quick, responsive, sporty but has the hauling capacity and versatility to handle just about any situation. It looks sharp and always current. VW designs are timeless. The times I've thought of switching, I've always come back to this particular VW model. Can't beat the joy of driving it.

Perfect Name For A Perfect Car

I love my Rabbit, quick & nimble, the 2.5 L 5 cylinder is quick & has a very satisfying roar. I have driven mostly american economy cars, but most recently an '04 BMW X3. While the Rabbit doesn't have the sheer muscle of the X3's 3.0L 6 cylinder, the interior feels just as spacious, & is as much fun to drive. If you are looking for the perfect mix of sportiness & practicality you can't beat the rabbit. Plus I'm averaging 27.5 mpg in mixed driving. Coming from 20 or so, it's fantastic!

Highway Go Cart

Really fun car to drive, my wife jokes that it is like driving a big roller skate. Handling is amazing and the interior quality is much better than you would expect in a car in this price range. Heated seats are a great standard feature. Gas mileage could be better, its a much sportier drive than say a Civi and you see that in the mileage, average 25mpg in mixed driving. The best I've ever gotten on a long highway trip is 28mpg.

Amazingly Fun!

I have driven my Rabbit S, automatic 2-door 26,000 miles and have really enjoyed it. The 2.5 5 cyl. with the tiptronic 6 speed auto is a great combo. Fuel milleage is 30mpg at 70mph. I just mounted a set of michelin Xice tires and the car is phenomnal on snow and ice. I have owned alot of new cars in my life and this little v-dub is one of my favorites!

Most Fun Car I've Owned

This was my first new car as an adult, being 22 years old. I looked at the Honda Civic and Fit, Ford Focus, Toyota Corolla, and Nissan Versa. This car was by far the most fun to drive and had the nicest, least pushy salesmen. I chose the 2-door, 5-speed Rabbit 2.5 S. After 8 months, and over 12,000 miles I am still loving it. I wish that it got better mileage, 26 average mpg, but I tend to drive it aggressively. My Rabbit handles like a dream and will get you to where you want to go quickly - average 0-60 in 7.1 seconds! For a little under 16K I got a black on black, 17 inch wheels, iPod adapter, and a free oil change! If you are looking for a fun, cheap, original, reliable, economical vehicle, go for the Rabbit. If you want a popular, boring vehicle go for a different car. You won't be displeased!

Geat Value

I still love this car 8 months and 10,000 miles later. It easily gets 32 MPG on the highway and has a lot of power. Controls and seating position are intuitive and comfortable. Heated seats and traction control make winter driving a treat. We had 300 inches of snow last year and I made it through the winter on the stock tires.

Rapid Rabbit

This car is impressive. Fast, quick and very responsive. I love the tiptronic transmission as we drive a lot of back country roads but when we need the convenience of automatic it is available. 1500 miles of driving and I am still smiling. Averaging 26 mpg in mixed driving. Interior could only be improved by a leather seat option. I love the heated seats, sport car like handling and subdued appearance. Definitely a white rabbit in a magician's hat. I can haul all kinds of stuff including our chocolate lab. Car is a great value.

Perfect for just about anyone

I already own a Mk5 VW GTI, and so when it came time for my wife to by a car for the family we bought the rabbit. Bolth our cars are 5 doors, because we have two kids. We chose to get the rabbit over a small suv for several reasons. It has more curb appeal, easier to park in the city, and is a nice car to drive. Once you add every feature like we did, you get a whole lot more car than if you bought a Toyota Rav4 for the same price. Now while a small SUV would have been bigger, we have no problem stuffing our little rabbit with cargo , a dog, and two kids. Since we take plenty of road trips, we needed a comfortable car and this is just that. It should also be noted that this handles twisty roads and turns better than any SUV or crossover could. And it gets 32 mpg on the highway, with our driving. In the town, 25 is my average. This is a wonderful car and should be considered as a family vehicle or small car.

Value can't be beat

At first glance the Rabbit may not seem as good a value as the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa, etc. But once you factor in the difference in engine sizes and standard features you'll find the 2 door Rabbit is one heck of a deal. For 16 grand I got a Rabbit with an automatic transmission. I'm amazed at the power of the engine for this price. Since it is 5 cyllinders instead of 4, there is more low end power where you want it. Plus, I've been getting better gas mileage than the reported 22-29. The 4-door rabbit is quite a bit more, so I'm not so sure I would give it the same rating.

Nice Little Car

I am a new owner, I checked a number of cars in this class. dollar for dollar the VW Rabbit beats it's competors. I also own a 2008 Audi A4, a number of options on this car are very simular to the Audi. I noticed when the AC is switched on the engin is not loaded down as badly as Toyota and especially the Hyndia. Fun little car, I look forward to many years of opperation. the 5 cly engine is strong and quiet. Body very tight, well thought out design. Besides looking better that a toyota corola, it has the feel of quality.
