2008 VW Touareg- V6 (Highline)

I've driven my Touareg in almost every imaginable road conditions, never to be let down by its performance. In fact I've even been on roads during winter conditions so bad the snow removal trucks were not even on the road. There were actually some pretty scary moments when I'm sure that a North American made vehicle would have been in the ditch! At these moments the Touareg's computer assisted control mechanisms took over and saved me and my family from certain disaster. I am a very experienced, professional driver having spent many hours behind the wheel of many different makes and models of cars and trucks and in my experience, I would have to say that the Touareg's driving options are exceptional.

Fantastic Ride - Love my Treg!

Love my 08 Treg V8! Had an 04 traded it in on a 07 XC90, got rid of the XC90 and returned to the Treg. Best decision. The ride and handling is beyond compare. Have had it now for 7 months, 5K miles without any problems. VW has hit the mark with the Touareg 2. Of course the gas consumption hurts a bit, but well worth it. VW is offering a high-end vehicle for a reasonable price. I am thrilled to own and drive this machine, anyone who experiences the Treg will be too.

Great SUV

I have had both body styles (2004& 2008) and really like this SUV.I've had 7 VW's in total. I love the look of it(its Porsches little brother) feel, handling, and comfort. I do think it could have a few more features for the base asking price. For example: standard leather,6 disc in dash CD player, and Xenon head lights.Other than that I really enjoy this car.It makes me feek really safe.I do not however like the depreciation hit it takes so quickly which is not typical of most German cars.American cars generally see this kind of depreciation within the first year.

Best in Class

When trading from an RX 330 to the T2 v8 we only considered import SUVs. The BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Acura and Infiniti are excellent choices, but cannot match the performance/luxury blend provided by the VW. The Porsche is very similar, but costs much more. The Dynaudio stereo and air suspension are wonderful and recommended options. This vehicle cruises, handles and climbs in all types of weather. The only minus is the dealer?s service-level when compared to the above listed brands.

You can't beat this car

I have a 2005 Treg V8 with 69,000 miles on it. She still looks brand new. I have leased many cars before this Treg, and when each of those other cars had 12 months left on the lease, I would begin shopping for a new car. This Treg is so wonderful, that I bought it at the end of the lease. I've never done that before. Before buying it at the end of the lease, I test drove the Rover Sport, the BMW and a few Japanese SUVs and nothing came close to the TReg. It has a speed and substance that is hard to match. In driving rains on standing water, it still holds the road like its on rails. It gulps gas, but you need a lot of fuel to make a 6500 pound truck drive like a sports car! I love this vehicle!

So much to love!

I'm new to the SUV experience and the new Touareg has definitely turned me into a believer. Despite its size it's easy to handle and surprisingly sporty. Its interior is luxurious and very comfortable, no other SUV I test drove compared, including the BMW X3, which seemed outdated and "simple" in comparison. the only drawback is it's gas mileage, but it's an SUV, so you can't exactly expect 30 mpg. It's very responsive and "tight", unlike many of the sluggish Japanese SUV's. Definitely a keeper.

My T2

I've had my T2 (V6) now for 8 months. Driven it in just about every possible weather condition (heavy snow/rain, wind, fog, hot/cold temps) and not once have I been disappointed. Its sport-like performance still amazes me for a mid-sized SUV. The '08 model incorporated several new quality parts and features to it, which were aimed at improving the reliablity ratings. You gotta love driving a vehicle that makes people's heads turn as you cruise by.

Far More SUV than Price Suggests--Cayenne VW!

This vehicle has a something about it that is so enjoyable, along with great luxury and the practical prestige you might expect from Land Rover. I also have a 2008 Lexus RX 350 - they are completely different rides: the Lexus more quiet luxury, the VW more agressive and determined. I wouldn't trade the VW for the Lexus. The interior, the driving, and the handling are all far better than the cost (V6 an V8 models) - it's a Cayenne in hiding. Love it.

AWESOME MACHINE!!

I have bought the new Touareg 2 V6 TDI which is fantastic vehicle. I test drove all the other competiters in the field ML320,X5,Grand Cherokee,Range Rover Sport,Lexsus and the XC90. All had their good and bad points, but the touareg seemed to combine all the good points in one package. With a much more value for money than any of the rest. I would defenately reccommened the veedub to anyone!
