I love my i3. I was looking for an inexpensive electric vehicle that didn't look like a spaceship, and found that in my 2015 i3. I purchased this vehicle with only 38,000 miles and have since only put 5,000 miles on it. It's great for those who have a shorter commute to work/school. I have not had any problems with the vehicle at all. It runs great, the backup gas option is great when you run out of time to charge. The only draw back I would say is that it doesn't go a longer distance on electric.

After looking on CarGurus, we saw they had a couple of Acura's at a very good deal. We had the opportunity to work with AJ, who help us out with seeing both, answering all our questions and test driving. After we were completely satisfied with the vehicle, we then talked with Pouria who help us get the best deal and even letting us trade in our extremely used older Acura for much more than we expected! We got through the deal and brought it home. After driving a few days, we noticed a noise with one of the wheels. After calling in they transferred us over to Carlos in the service department who asked us to bring it in and took care of the issue within 24hrs. This is a surprisingly fun car. We bought it mainly to not feel guilty running the AC in car line - but got to appreciate it in various situation. The range isn't great, the flimsy tires need getting used to - but for what a used (ideally certified pre-owned) one goes for - I really don't think you can go wrong. Unless you live in a city and have good places to charge - it probably is not a suitable car as your only car - but it's a great addition if you don't depend on it for a 300 mile drive. Accelerations is fun, the car is a lot bigger inside than it looks. It has a little bit of a theme park ride feel to it at times.

April, very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with purchase of our used Honda. Within a day or so discovered faulty VTC Actuator. We are from out of state and had to remain in area for repairs during the worst of the wildfires. But the amazing service manager Celine ( who was also covering jobs for absent co- workers) seemed to be able to make magic happen!!!! Within 30 minutes determined it was a repair that had to done at a local Honda dealer, arranged a ride to our RV for us, had our car taken to the Honda dealer. Knowing we could leave town and the awful smoke when the car was fixed she said she'd try her best to get our car back to us the next day which was a sat.( and her day off). Gave us her personal cell no. and set up in computer the details for our return ride to Carmax. Sat. was moving on but one call to Carmax for an update, they saw Celine had arranged everything for us to get our car on Sat. and BAM, magic happened!! Had our car within an hour, repairs completed, and we headed home to Florida. Yes, Carmax was great with fulfilling their warranty policy but it was Celine who put the efficient, professional, friendly face to implementing it. Thank-you Celine for being great at what you do!

Have put about 12,000 miles on a used 94ah Rex over the past year. It's a unique little car to be sure, with some substantial upsides and downsides. First the good stuff: It's a fantastic city / mall / school drop off / tight quarters car. Very quick under 50 mph, turning radius of a bike, only a bit larger footprint than a Mini. Just a fun little car to zip around in. The interior fits 4 pretty comfortably, and it's a pretty open, airy feeling despite being so small. Not cramped at all. I really like the styling as well, and it's on the cheap end of cars we've owned over the past 15 years. It's been pretty reliable for the most part, but the Rex does not seem to like to sit for long periods without use. It threw codes several times during the first couple months, all of which cleared and did not immediately recur. I believe it sat at the dealer for many months prior to me purchasing it. After that initial spat of codes, it's worked flawlessly. Range is fine for around town, I would not attempt long distance travel, though you COULD do it. I have always charged it at home, with a level-2 charger I installed myself. Electricity is about 1/4-1/3 the cost of gas under this setup, so it's very efficient. Now the not so good: The rear tires burn up fast, are unique to the car (no other car uses the same tire size), are kind of expensive, and honestly, the traction isn't great. Plan on replacing tires every 12-15k miles, if you make it that far. It's particularly bad in the snow. There's no way to reduce the lift off regen, so it will drag its rear end. You end up left foot braking when it's really slick to make sure you engage the ABS. Do not plan on this being your snow car. The range also goes down significantly in the winter. It'll do >100 miles of around town driving in the summer months, but that's more like 60-70 when it gets cold. Has to run the heat pump, heat the battery, etc. It's only got 4 seats (2 in back). A tiny middle seat probably makes more sense, though it would only be for small children. The BMW connected app subscription is basically a requirement to connect to your utility and get credit for charging off peak (if it's available in your region). It's $120 a year, which is typical German luxury xx. The Odd: The exterior is...different. It sure does attract attention. I guess to each his or her own. Rear suicide doors work pretty well, but they come with a bit of a learning curve. At least people can get in back without front passengers having to get out or bend over. It has a scooter engine, and it sounds like it too! My take: It's a great 3rd car for a family that does a lot of pick up / drop off, grocery-getting, commuting, etc. in a relatively small radius (say 20 miles max, each way). Under that setup, it's very cheap to run, it's fun to drive, it fits everywhere, and it's a nice place to spend time. As the only household car, forget it. As the 2nd car in a 2-car household? Only if you don't spend a ton of time in freezing weather / snow. But in a household where it competes with an M2, an Odyssey and a Cayenne, I put more miles on the i3 than any of the other cars over the past year. So I clearly like the darn thing! Other Recommendation: Get bimmercode app and code on a function that allows you to manually start the Rex at any time the battery is under 75%. Waiting til it hits 6% to turn on automatically isn't going to run it often enough to keep it happy. You don't want to run the battery that empty very often either.

I bought this 15K miles base model (Electric engine only) for 10K. A steal. Pros: 3 Driving modes for different conditions. Free public ev charging stations, usually charges 26 miles per hour or more, and that means free rides. Easy connectivity Stylish look (people actually have that what heck is that look) Nice cargo space once back seats are down. Cons: Inconsistent mile range readings. Range anxiety. Original Charger is a joke. 40 miles highway travel takes 12+ to recharge. 2-3 miles per hour recovery. Bmw either thinks people will bleed 50k (originally) for a substitute car, or people will always have 12-16 hours time to move between errands. Doors design is unusual. Still not as ridiculous as a coupe door design. Cargo space is so tiny with backseats up. Carseats for infants are difficult to place without sacrificing significant space for either the driver or the front passenger. My final verdict. If you purchase a 24amp or a more capable charger than you can manage. If you're soccer mom, or switch your hats often, this base model may not be for you. Still, if you really really a planner it may work out beautifully. If you're purchasing this as second car for the family, then you can save tons in cost. If you spot a free ev charging station you can literally run your range to close to empty then leave it at the charging station and picked it up after couple of hours.

It was everything I expected. We love the styling and comfort. It's our everyday car now for around town. No gas usage. The car has entered of zip when needed. No maintenance needed. I bought a 6 year, 100k miles extended warranty with this car.

Best first electric car I've owned! Love it. Fast and fun to drive. I love out-running the traffic. Quiet. It's so quick! Very safe! I love the range extender. I go everywhere and anywhere. Comfortable. Charges in 4 hours with my 220V charger. High performance.

I've been a BMW fan since the 1980s and wanted to go electric at an affordable price. I recently purchased a 2017 ReX with 25k miles in excellent condition. So far, it's proving a great solution for my needs. I've been able to charge using only the 110 outlet supplied and have only had to use the gasoline motor a few times. My only issue is limited rear storage, but since I seldom have back seat passengers that roomy area provides plenty of extra carrying space. Warning: tires (especially on the rear) wear out quickly, with the only option expensive. I replaced all four when I bought the car, although I could have just gotten by with the rears (no front to back rotation is possible. At first glance, the exterior appearance seems weird, but I've gotten used to it. And I love the roomy, simple interior.

The absolute best!! This is our third auto purchase (corvette, VW Beetle and Yukon Denali "love love love them") from Lux Motors. This is a great no non-sense dealership. Recently purchased a loaded Mini Cooper S for my wife from Horatio at Select Motors. I found the vehicle posted online along with several other Mini Cooper's he had in stock. I called the dealership before heading through traffic and they let me know that they show by appointment. They asked me to come by a couple hours later which was perfect for me anyway. I showed up to my appointment and I have to say that every one of the cars at this dealership is immaculate. These guys were straight up and knew their inventory and no xxxxxxxx. If you prefer a warm fuzzy salesman that wastes a bunch of your time, I'd go somewhere else. If you want a place to shoot it to you straight, price their cars below market(for options and packages their cars include), and get through the car buying process super quick...then this is your place. Did I mention the quality of their cars? Every single car I looked at appeared as if it was brand new. I was able to buy a fully loaded Mini Cooper S with NAV, a backup camera, parking sensors, Harmon/Kardon sound, heads-up display, etc. for about $12k less than buying a brand new one. The car I purchased is barely broken-in and still has a new car smell. Thanks, Horatio and team for making my car buying experience extremely quick and simple. Quick, quiet, and fun to drive. Just picked up a 2017 ReX Deka with 30K miles and a new set of tires for $16900 and have driven it over 350 miles thus far and it's a blast. I'm 6' 6" tall and have three Golden Retrievers and we all fit comfortably. This may be the most fun, practical choice, that I've ever made.

I purchased a 2020 BMW i3 from Horacio at Select Motors. It was a better car with a better price than anywhere else. I searched the whole country. Horacio is a no nonsense, straight to the point, high integrity person. He sets a fair price (to you and to him) and doesn't haggle. If you know what you want and he has it I highly recommend working with him. At one point I was trying to figure out how to go see the car in person (never did, bought it sight unseen based on the pictures and description) and he suggested I buy a local car. Imagine that! Someone not trying to sell a car. Our car is as good as we hoped it would be. If anything it's better. I would buy another car from him without hesitation. We had it shipped from California and it arrived in perfect shape. Best buying experience from a dealer EVER!

Spacious, well designed, great styling, adequate features. Only thing you need to ask yourself is if a usefule range of about 110 to 120 miles per charge is good enough for your driving needs. If you do buy this car, make sure you buy a 220 volt charger to keep charging time to less than about 4 hours.

Cons: Doors could be an issue for some the way they open, but I think they are cool Small tires take a lot of suspension out of the car, so a decently firm ride that is actually nice in spirited driving Small trunk with smaller frunk Somewhat clunky infotainment menu at first, but it grows on you with use and familiarity Hack the REX to be able to turn it on whenever you want, as long as you are under 75% battery. 100 bucks tops. Get bimmercode app. Get a obd 2 reader from the list recommended in app. Upgrade bimmercode subscription. Its not meant for heavy use, bit man does it solve issues. I used to own a Leaf, so I know about trying to get a charge. All the time waiting or maybe not around one.....REX. This hack allows more control versus only on at 6%. Pros: Everything else. Seriously. I have owned over 30 cars. This one is right up there. It will be a classic with some of the architecture such as a carbon fiber cage.
