Used BMW X5 for sale near Blaine, MN under $50,000

I just bought a 540i from Josh Smith. Josh is a class act, a wealth of knowledge and a relationship builder vs. pushy sales person. Five stars for Josh. Working with Lea in the F&I office left a lot to be desired which is why I’m leaving four stars. She is standoffish, rude and not a pleasant person to work with. I was within a minute of pulling the plug on the deal and went to Motorwerks from dealing with her. I had to swing by the service department today to top off the coolant. Was in and out in five minutes.

Our 2022 X5 was a beautiful car to us. Unfortunately it didn't work for us as my wife is handicapped and found it difficult to get in and out of - it's higher than one would expect and came to realize the seats are more inboard than other cars that are direct competitors. The 3 inch door sill was almost like a running board and contributed to her struggles. Even though we had the multi-contour seats, we found the lower cushion seat side bolsters too firm for any drive more than an hour. The seat back was fine. While driving around town and 2 lanes was great, it didn't track as well on the highway as one would expect, even after an alignment (it was off at delivery). Our old Volvos were much better in that regard. The positives include the exterior and interior design/layout, the quality, ride, handling and power. It also still has a few buttons, albeit a bit small when driving. The headlights were awesome and the gas mileage was better than expected, 21 around town and 28+ on the highway. Our situation is unique, and after 7 months we sold the car to a tall, able bodied couple.

Only had the X5 for 4 weeks now but so far it is an awesome vehicle that runs and drives great. It appears to be very well built with good body lines and fit. Some of the safety features and electronic systems take some time to get set up properly for the best driving experience but the reward is well worth the time as everything is customizable for two drivers. Only bad thing is that a mower along the roadside threw a stone and put a chip in our paint and the paint isn’t self healing.

My wife and I worked with Amy Mattick to lease two new BMWs, a 2023 X5 and a 2023 M4. We went over the details of the X5 lease on a Zoom call and signed documents via DocuSign. Our car was delivered to our home and the delivery technician demonstrated elements of the operating system to us. He also programmed the garage door openers in the car. Very comfortable, with massaging seats plus heated and cooled seats. I’m not sure that it’s a great value because it is expensive. The adaptive cruise control and the lane keeping work very well and almost make it self-driving.

I frequently change cars because I love to learn and experience new vehicles. I bought a new 2020 RR Defender and traded it after 5 months for the X5. I wasn't really looking for a new car but fell in love with the X5 while accompanying a friend on a test drive. I really like that it handles like an ultimate driving machine. And the drive characteristics are extremely customizable. It's quiet, quick and comfortable. No squeaks or rattles - the RR had a few. It's a solid German example of automotive excellence.

Super people: Service Supervisor, Austin Ryan made somewhat overdue maintenance and repairs an absolute breeze and great experience. Sprinter Specialist, Justin got my Sprinter 2500 Diesel Crew Van (purchased new in 2012) handling at its absolute like new best. Seriously my 2012 feels like a brand new vehicle. This is the most underrated gems in the used diesel SUV market—but only if you’re the right kind of owner. Powered by the soon becoming legendary M57 inline-six diesel engine, this version of the E70 X5 combines German engineering with long-haul durability if treated right….and by treated right, I mean ideally maintained by someone who can turn a wrench and not the type of owner who wants to drop it off at the dealership for every noise or light. This vehicle is ideal for the hands-on car enthusiast who appreciates the mechanical integrity of a proper diesel engine and doesn’t mind putting in garage time to keep it in good shape. If you're someone who already loves BMWs and understands their quirks, this vehicle will feel like a rewarding project and a fantastic daily driver in one package. The M57 diesel engine is incredibly robust and becomes one of the best engines only with one huge caveat…the emissions equipment needs to be removed. In fact, I would not recommend owning this vehicle if you don’t plan or cannot do this in your state legally. Once deleted, this engine opens up and delivers a strong blend of torque, horse power and efficiency, making it an excellent tow vehicle. It's perfect for hauling a car trailer, camper, or family gear around without struggle. Stock, it’s already torquey, but with the deletes and a mild tune, this becomes a real beast without sacrificing reliability...and if given a race tune, this thing will hurt other drivers' feelings pulling from stop lights or on the freeway. The chassis overall is “decent” (Being said by a vintage BMW enthusiast, this is very much a compliment to today’s standards), but there are known maintenance pain points that a mechanically inclined owner should be aware of. If you plan to purchase from a used dealership or private seller, you’ll most likely need to do a suspension refresh including replacement of struts, bushings, arms etc.…possibly an engine refresh including valve cover seals, intake manifold cleaning and replacement of other various leaky seals…work on the cooling system including but not limited to replacing lines, hoses, main/expansion coolant tank as these are plastic and will crack and fail due to heat over time. There will be some normal interior wear including the finishes of center console buttons peeling off but are easily replaceable. Something important to note when purchasing is the interior sunroof shade condition, including whether it is completely operable and if there are any signs of sagging/peeling fabric. Any issue with the sunroof should reflect in the price as this item is very intricate, expensive, and difficult to work on. These aren’t dealbreakers though...just things to note when looking to purchase and if they’ve been covered in recent maintenance...if they haven't, plan for work that will inevitably need to be done. Again, don’t expect it to be hands-off, you’ve got to earn this one…But if you're up for the task, you’ll be rewarded with one of BMW’s most versatile platforms.

Pretty friendly and all in all honest. Car was ready for me to test drive. They trusted me to go on my own lol. When it came down to the sell, they allowed me to make my own decision. The buying process was quick and easy as well.

I’ve owned two 2015 X5D’s - daily driven for 7 years for a combined 173,000 miles (sales job), I averaged 29MPG on each tank in mixed driving (38+mpg on hwy using renewable diesel in CA), and it’s been so much more reliable than any gas car I’ve owned… The only car that compares in reliability is two BMW 328 diesels I’ve owned - I’m not going back to gas cars. I may consider Cayenne diesel as the only other alternative daily driver, otherwise I’ll stay with X5 diesels.

We take trips to Cashiers/Highlands NC frequently. The drive is just over 5 hrs an it flies by quickly as the car is so comfortable. The peppy V8 has lots of power to pass quickly on the highway when necessary. Once we get into the mountains it feels great to switch from Eco mode to sports mode to attack those tight turns :)

I ended up purchasing the 2014 Prius C from North Imports that was featured on Cars.com. The two sales people I worked with, Serge and Russ, were knowledgeable and considerate, responding in a timely fashion whenever I communicated but was unable to connect live. Russ took the lead and informed me of the circumstances under which the used car had been purchased by the dealership and what I could expect if I purchased it, being honest enough to tell me what would be covered by the purchase and what wouldn't. He was even kind enough to allow me to take the vehicle to the auto repair person that has been working on my cars for years to obtain an assessment.
