the 2012 Hyundai Sonata is a smooth comfortable car with a potential flaw that Hyundai has, in my opinion, addressed adequately. First the Pros: It is stylish in both the interior as well as exterior design. It is comfortable, even for me at 6'3" and is not tiring for extended periods on the highway. The fuel economy is good averaging for me about 32 MPG with mostly highway driving. The engine has reasonable power when needed and is generally smooth. The cons are that the 4-cylinder Theta-II engine that the Sonata Uses, (as well as the Santa Fe and Kia Optima and Sorento) has a known flaw that causes the #4 cylinder connecting rod bearing to wear out prematurely causing engine failure. Hyundai has recently extended the Engine Warranty to a lifetime warranty on these engines and that includes if you bought the car used. I think this is a reasonable response. My Sonata suffered this exact failure 5 months ago at 164,000 miles and the engine was replaced with no pushback. The car carried an original 100K mile warranty which is still considered industry leading so, legally, any car over 100K miles Hyundai and Kia could have stuck to their original warranty agreement and taken no action. But that is not what they are doing. One of the reasons I gave Korean cars a try several years ago was the lack of response I got on a Japanese brand known for their high quality that also had a known failure point but took no action after the warranty expired. Because of Hyundai's ultimate response I still highly recommend the car. if you have a higher mileage Sonata, my advice would be sure you have some sort of roadside assistance, so in case you experience this same failure, you will not be left stranded. The good news is that in the rare instance you experience this issue, you should receive a new engine.

We have the Sport Limited Turbo 2.0 in white. Power is good. But, sometimes it seems like the turbo isn't boosting as you're getting on the throttle. Stock tires are noisy, so we put some quiet Michelins on and it helps a lot. Interior-wise, the Nav panel and controls is really something to be desired. It just plains stinks. I'd love to have the newer radio/Nav display that the KIA's have. Trunk is very spacious and leather seats are comfortable. Overall, it's great for long trips (33 mpg on the interstate driving 77mph) and it's a nice looking car. Not as cool as our son's 2022 KIA K5 GT-line, though!

I purchased my 2015 Hyundai Elantra Limited without really even knowing all the extras it has. I'm learning new things about it all the time. I've never had a car so fancy! Hey, after 12 years with a Kia Spectra, this car is FANCY! I've never had leather seats, let alone heated leather seats! I've never been able to make a phone call by telling the car to call someone! I cant really think of anything about this vehicle that disappoints me at all. I'm just grateful to Gustman Honda in Appleton and my salesman Jon Devet for being so great and helping me keep to my budget while still getting SO much car! I know she's 6yrs old but shes like new to me, and I love her. Great car!

Bought a Honda Pilot with 300k miles. Still driving it 2 yrs later. Not a single breakdown. Heading to buy another car this week. I see all the negative reviews. They sell used cars. You the buyer should know what to look for.

First of all I want to say I have no affiliation with Hyundai. My husband and I have owned Hyundai’s since 1978, Usually upgrading every three years or so. At my age of 69 I have never owned a more reliable car. My current Hyundai is the 2013 Tucson. I absolutely love hi Hyundai and they never drive anything but a Hyundai. I bought a 08 Honda Accord in 2018, I still drive the car. I bought it with 79k miles and now have 203k on it. Nothing bad has ever happened with it. Except normal wear and tear. One rule about buying used cars, either know what you’re looking for, or have someone else check it out.

I love my elantra. I haven't hardly had any problems with it at all. However I also experienced the paint chipping on my white hyundai. I was also told that it was a rock. Now reading others comments about their paint shipping I question it. I paid out of pocket because it wasn't worth going through insurance with deductible and everything. Other than that I have had absolutely no problem with my Hyundai. I also like the look of it on the outside. I thought about trading for a newer one but I also don't like the styles of the new ones. I wish they still made them like the 2016 exterior. I would love to have a newer one but I would like for it to look like the 2016 hyundai. The reason for that is you could look at the car and see it was a Hyundai elantra. Now I feel like the new launchers look like every other car on the road.

I bought a 2015 sonata hybrid limited in black. I tinted the windows. I enjoy driving it. It is really fast if you already warm up the engine before you floor it. Love the look and paint. I have 75k on it. I drive it hard. Nothing has been replaced. Rear brake once seized in my garage - learned that you need to drive the car around first after washing it or that can happen. Don't like the delay in getting engine going at a stop. Should be a button to turn engine on so it is ready to haul it in fast traffic.

I love my hyundai elantra gls, got her at 113k , its at 187k currently and always reliable , fun to drive and I do all my own maintenance work! The only thing I can't stand is the cloth beige seats stain with rain or water only! Hard to get the perfect clean seats It's annoying so seat covers fixed that! I love this car I may buy another same year with lower miles!!

I was impressed by the clean inventory dealership possessed. I purchased 2008 Porsche Cayenne in the excellent condition. Next day drive shaft center support bearing rubber surround has failed. Witch is very coming in these cars with this mileage. Not that they fixed it for me rigth the way, they also offer me a loaner car. Todd and Jake father and son are the owners and operators. Bought a used 2013 Hyundai Elantra on March 7, 2018 at approx. 68,800 miles on it. Bought and paid in full on the spot at a used car dealership called Cavalier Mazada. It was a great vehicle. I got lucky and had no issue with it and did not experience the engine oil consumption issue with this vehicle. Had this vehicle until first week of October 2021 when I got another used vehicle. Reason is because it got totaled in an accident (not-at-fault) back in July 30, 2021. Structural got bent. I miss that car.

I have bought a car from them for my daughter. The car wouldn't accept gas Bob told me to take it to their mechanics their mechanics found some stuff that was wrong with it and Bob took care of me as I was his own family. I've owned a Sonata 2.0T Limited since 2011. Only major issue was metal shavings in the engine block. Hyundai installed a new engine and everything us been perfect for the next 47K miles. I'm also 6'5" and over 300Lbs but I'm always comfortable when driving or being a passenger in the front seat. I would buy another one but my wife wants something higher to stay above the traffic.

My son looked at cars and was not hassled. People answered questions for him. He bought a 2014 Kia FORTE 5 EX hatchback. Blue, ha is happy!

We have a 1.6T. It has all of the performance we need but turns into a 40+ mpg car on long trips. It is the ultimate GT car.

My Elantra 2013 is 11 Years old, with regular change oil every 8K kilometers and regular change of ATF every 40K kilometer, regular change of Spark plug every 20K, and some front parts(Front stabilizer link, front bar bushing, lower arm bushing) just recenty as normal wear &tear. My total Odo: 120K, No Engine and transmission problem.
