I was looking for a specific car that was at this CarMax. Problem was that I live in Minnesota, not Chicago and would have to traveling a great distance for a car I had not seen other than in pics, potentially risking wasting a great deal of time and money. I had to trust Jonathan, my salesman, to tell me the condition of the car where the pics could not. He was completely honest and the car was exactly what he said it was. Between Jonathan and Adam, the sales manager i was able to close the deal and drive back to home within an hour. I am completely pleased with the car and 100% satisfied with the dealership. I love my jeep Sahara I put a 2in lift in it and 20 in rims with 35 in wide tires , I took it on a 5000 mile road trip it did great on the highway and over the mountains of Colorado I hit a lot of snow and rain on the trip to the west coast and back to Oklahoma I loved the drive it does not drive like a sport car but better then my work truck does , for the whole trip I avg 20 miles to the gal even with the over size tires on it and the off road is just what you think a jeep would be , if you want a good on and off road then I say this is a good jeep for you

An Honest Review of Salem Autosports

Salem Autosports has gotten some bad reviews from people who buy vehicles from them only to have them end up having mechanical issues. It's important to keep in mind that salem autosports is essentially a car flipping dealership, meaning they buy used cars from a couple of sources (such as trade-ins from a local dealership), and then turn around and sell them for a good deal without doing much mechanical review or cleanup of the vehicle. This method of business allows you to find some pretty good deals here, but you have to know the above to know that you need to do your own review of the vehicle and you're not going to be guaranteed that you won't have to put a little money into it after you buy it to fix a few things. All that said, I got such a good deal on a 2002 Toyota Tacoma with low miles that it was worth me flying here all the way from Omaha, Nebraska, to buy the truck that I had not even seen in person. Yes it was a bit of a risk, but it paid off and the truck is very nice even though I did have to put about $1,300 into it after buying it to fix a few things like some ball joints. That said I got the truck for probably like $4,000 under Blue Book value so I'm still well in the money on it and love it. As far as service goes, these guys were great to work with from afar. They answered all my questions kindly and promptly and even went as far as sending me video footage of them hammering on some areas under the frame so I can make sure it was just spot rust. Overall I would definitely recommend this dealership with the caveat that you have to be ready to do your own research on the vehicle and thoroughly check it out to make sure that it is good as far as you can tell and be willing to potentially put a little money into it after you buy it, but that's not really that uncommon when buying a used vehicle anyway. I caught a few minor issues with the truck when doing my in person review, (such as the passenger side door handle being broken), and they knocked off a couple hundred dollars right on the spot for me. Zero pressure, 100% honesty, just a joy to work with. I would refer anyone to this dealership. The prices are exceptional, and the inventory is varied enough that just about anyone could find a vehicle to fit their needs. They’re older, higher mileage cars ours was a Carmax trade in that they would not retail due to its age (2007). There were a couple issues with the car, but Brandon immediately acknowledged them and we worked out a deal to have these areas addressed. We had a friendly conversation with Brandon and his dad after the deal was worked out. We felt like they received a fair price for their vehicle, and so did we. You should take the time to visit this dealership if you find a vehicle in their inventory that suits your needs. Great people, excellent prices, and unquestionable ethics.
