The '03 TJ's hit the sweet spot in the '97-'06 line. They were the last major revision, especially with the 'TUPY' cylinder head, and parts revisions in '04-'06's, well, have issues. 'TJ' means (last) True Jeep. The 4.0L '03's are special. You ride in a car, you drive in a Jeep.

I purchased a 2008 CL 550 that I absolutely love. It drives almost like it’s brand new despite being 18 years old. My salesman Chris went above and beyond with getting me in this car and even fixed the air conditioner on another vehicle I drove there to buy this car! I’ve never had that happen before. A very good looking Jeep. Already raised, with 5 custom wheels and tires. Runs good and was priced fairly. My son is beside himself with joy.

As I read, don't buy unless you can work on it. Plenty of things broke, but the parts are cheap if you can work on it. All four interior door handles broken, but all four replacements were $40, I put them in. Starter motor bad, $160 and very difficult to install, but did it. Exhaust manifold to engine gasket bad. $20 and very difficult to install. Rubber gators over CV joints, cheap, but very hard to install. Advice: watch Youtube video's, take your time, and don't get aggravated, I told you its difficult...Plus all the plastic fasteners and parts are dry and brittle after 17 years.

This Jeep is full size and has plenty of room. It drives well. It has been super dependable. The tires are worth $1000 alone. It comes with several spare parts that were purchased but never needed and can't return. There is a power steering hose that leaks and needs to be replaced.

Before owning this car I've always made fun of the way it looks until realizing it may not be your ideal Jeep, but it does help with aerodynamics of the car. For a SUV with a V6 engine I expected the gas intake to cost more than it really does but to my surprise the gas cost is no issue for me and I drive it almost every day. As the car is well built it is meant to be a car that is supposed to be taken care of like a car. There's some issues that will occur with the 04 Jeep Liberty but those fixes don't burn holes in your pockets. After 20 years this car is still capable of trail riding and everyday usage with comfort and confidence. The interior can be turned into a quiet a spacious area for the size it appears to be form the exterior. I heavily recommend this as a first car as it was my first. Not to mention it is a pretty hard shell to crack when it comes to wrecks or bumps. To think owning this car Brand New while it runs perfectly fine for its two decades of life. To anyone reading this that is thinking of buying this from a Dealer/FBMP/Family or Friend, I'm sure you won't regret it.

I purchased my 99 Cherokee, new. She is 25 years old and just, a couple of years ago I had a hose brake and them a new radiator. Last week went thru a bad storm on the freeway, some much water, I could fill it hydroplaning, but she kept steady. Once vacationing in the mountain, in June, it started to snow. The next morning it was still snowing, so we packed up to go My jeep is not a four-wheel drive. Some other people were leaving too. We were the only ones to get up the road, everyone else couldn't make it. I love this car. Almost replaced it but just can't. Oh ya, she only has 137000 miles.

I bought mine used..Love it, but sad to hear the model has been discontinued..Mine is pretty basic...not many extras to break...decent gas mileage, running great on E15, too.

I love my Liberty! I was inspired to buy mine (used) after temporarily inheriting my Dad’s 2008 Liberty. I’ll comment on the 2008, then the 2012. 2008: Bought brand new out of the showroom; it was an everyday driver and has been very reliable. No problems with the engine or transmission, 4-wheel drive works great. Some very minor issues with the power window switch, it stopped working, but easy fix. The AC takes a little while to cool the interior down, but it hasn’t been serviced or recharged. This Liberty just turned 300,000 and is still running well! 2012 bought used with 65,000. This Liberty is also a daily driver. The engine and Transmission are fine, no issues. The 4-wheel drive system has been good as well. Used it several times on snowy unplowed Wisconsin roads and it has been solid. Holds skis, snowboards really well. Biggest service item will be new tires. One minor issue with the AM/FM radio, the receiver chip in the radio went bad, so no AM/FM. But the CD and Jack work fine. This Liberty just crossed 125,000 and is running like a champ. Final note: I hated the look and everything about the Liberty when my Dad bought his. Then I drove it. Complete game changer; now I absolutely love it!

The 97 is my first car, she may be 23 years old but she's never given up on me or any of my family members. The longest she's stayed out of commission was when we were waiting for the starter to come in. She always has surprises in store for me, overall I wouldn't trade her for the world. The car may not have a back bumper, or shocks(that's also fun when hitting a bump, free bouncy house) and the interiors seen better days, but these aren't the car's fault. A car's condition determines the person's ability to care for a car.

The 2012 Gran Cherokee Overland has been my car for over 12 years. I’ve enjoyed every minute of driving it. Have made several road trips with it and never a complaint. No bulbs for heater control knobs LED have to change whole heater control system to get new lights that they shortly went out why not just put bulbs in there. But no they Saturday and LED bulbs . Problem with seatbelts Frayed through like they were cut. After a while you’ll have to push the red button on the seatbelt connector to get it to seat. Passenger side keeps dinging if somebody says they’re with a seatbelt on? Spare tire under Jeep you have to take the spare tire down if you want to spray and clean up there and if you don’t it will rust I used to get under the car wash and it still wouldn’t get up on top of the spare tire. water pump failed at 140,000 miles. Control arms were out another front linkage. Flush lug nuts if they break in Half the cost about $150 to get them chiseled out take them off and put regular Chrome Lugnuts on them .!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
