I won't go over the car in detail, that has been done by the "official review". I would comment about the change characteristics of the F1 transmission. The first time I drove the car, this is EXACTLY what I thought - very abrupt and not slick for an automatic. However, I then comprehended that this is NOT an automatic, rather a manual with electronically controlled clutch and gear changes. Once you accept this and learn to aid gear changes with the throttle - i.e. actually drive the car - it is a joy to behold ... Yes, you can run it in full auto mode, and I acknowledge it will be nowhere near as smooth as other prestige automatic transmissions, but this is NOT what it was designed for. This facility is there so I can "drive the car", and my wife can "take it for a drive" without having to work too hard. Horses for courses! It takes some learning but well worth the effort.

Hamilton Hudson is the type of person you wish you could always deal with when working with a dealership. I have visited the dealership many times over the years to look at the inventory and Hamilton would always greet me by name even when I was just looking. After many years of looking, we recently completed a multi-car transaction with many moving parts (no pun intended). I purchased a 2019 Quattroporte Gran Lusso from Maserati of Newport Beach, as a CPO (Certified Pre-Owned), with the balance of the 4/50K warranty, plus one year of CPO, and I purchased a 2nd. year of CPO. The car was virtually in "brand new" condition, and was a local Newport Beach lease car. I love the sound of the engine, the ZF 8-speed automatic, the aromatic leather, and the modified U-Connect infotainment system. Car is totally up to date. Does it have some of that Italian quirkiness? - of COURSE it does. If you want a uninspiring tomb, get a Lexus This car has SOUL. It drives like no other 4-door luxury offering. The 424HP twin turbo V-6 just SINGS! Heck, it was 1/2 the price of a brand new one!

I was initially concerned about some of the reviews on the 14’s & 15’s. I ended up buying a 2018 Ghibli SQ4 GranLusso. We are very happy with the car. It has been reliable and extremely fun to drive. I have the red interior with Bowers Wilkens stereo. I could care less about some of the concerns with the info system being too rudimentary...looks fine to me. I will find any excuse to drive the car. Enjoy.
