I bought my 2009 Mazda6 used with 35,000 miles in 2010. Now 2024, it has over 220,000 miles. The engine is still good. I change the oil every 10,000 miles with Mobil-1 synthetic oil. Between oil changes I add .8 of a quarts of oil. I keep the oil between .5 and .8 on the deep stick. i check the oil when the engine is cold. I replace the transmission fluid every 30,000 miles.

Great car for everyday use that doesn't break the bank. I get under 6.5 liters per 100 kilometers after religiously monitoring fuel consumption for almost 50,000 kilometers. For a 2.0 gasoline engine, that's quite an achievement. The car also proved to be reliable on long trips, offering plenty of luggage space and a comfortable ride. The only annoying thing is the interior noise when driving on the highway.

We purchased this vehicle over the Mazda3 due to the fact the insurance premiums were lower and upon review, it was due to the fact it was a safer overall vehicle. We were never disappointed. This was such a fantastic out of school value buy! Relatively low overall maintenance required aside from the major mileage milestones and regular wear and tear. It remained reliable as we drove it to the near 175K Mileage mark.
