Super knowledgable staff and definitely will be buying more cars from them in the future.
A mixxed review...
Just sold mine after owning it for eight plus years. While I loved the looks of the SLK and I did enjoy owning and driving it, I was never that crazy about the spartan interior. For a Mercedes that cost $40K new, I thought it was rather plain Jane. I also wasn't happy with things like the door panels delaminating, the dash finish scaling off and probably most of all, the dang roof...I expected better from a Mercedes Benz. The roof went kaput three times while I owned the car and I got sick of the bother and the cost to deal with it. I would have also hoped it would hold its value better. I sold it rather cheap despite having put thousands into it. It's a cool little hardtop convertible but if you buy one, beware...be prepared to sink some $ into it.

Going strong since 1999
I have a SLK230 since 1999. Drove it from WA state to California on Highway 1 multiple times. I also drive it every weekend for trips to nearby towns and during the week to get a coffee. It is a great little car with a bit odd engine sound, but it has been going on without an issue forever.

Honest and Easy to work with
This was one of the most honest dealers we have ever worked with. Not only did they offer to replace the windshield (without being asked), they gave us some gas money for gas since the gas tank was nearly empty. I most heartily give this dealership 5 stars!
Great car 1999
owned since May 2022. Great car. Stick shift. Runs like a top. 75k now. Bought at 70k. Sturdy feel. Retractable top works like a charm..

1998 Mercedes Benz SLK230
I have been a big fan of the Mercedes Benz motorcars for years, and have always admired the SL's. I found a 1998 SLK230 advertised on my local marketplace on Facebook of all places. I have now owned this stunning little car for going on two years. I have put very little work into it since I purchased it. Oil change, coolant flush, injectors cleaned and changed out the shocks for a set of Bilstein b6's instead of the b4's, which gave the car a little stiffer ride. One of the main lifting cylinders for the roof sprung a leak and now the top does not work. Just waiting to replace it. This seems like a typical problem facing the older SLK's. Mine is the sunburst yellow like the one pictured. After 24 years the paint still gleams bright. I have received so many admiring comments on this car. People can't believe it's as old as it is. If you ever run across one, my advice would be grab it before it gets away. this seems like a typical problem facing the older SLK

They did a Great job and worked for me as I asked. Everything was ready when I got there.
…a European Taxi that will go and go and go and…
The C230 Kompressor (2.4 liter) engine is SUPER dependable…IF the car has been maintained. If you don’t have a service record and are not good at detecting problems on a test drive then do yourself a favor and spend the +/- $300 to get it inspected at a competent Benz garage. Mine has 200,000 miles and have never had ANY big expense…most I ever had to put into it is about $400…which is what it cost to replace factory front brakes, or to service the auto trans with fluid and filter. change. Only mechanical problem I have ever had are worn cam sensors, which is common and costs about…$400 to repair. My experience after driving the car for ten years is that parts are affordable on eBay…used lower mileage engine: <$1000. Main thing is to replace supercharger oil if it starts to whine louder. YouTube has a video on how to do that w/o removing the supercharger. Lastly, while I maintain the car, I also drive the holy xxxx out of it! It’s only going to start leaking oil if you don’t get it changed often enough, or if you drive it like an old lady who is not from Pasadena…

Trustworthy
I purchased a 97 911 air-cooled from Tim Holt the owner. Everything was as described. We went through all the phases of buying, paperwork ,and even shipping. I'm very satisfied and everything that Tim said it would be was. I'm still waiting for the maintenance manual that he said he would send me:) otherwise I love the car. Thank you very much and I hope to be a repeat customer..
Most enjoyable car I have owned.
I bought the car for the purpose of relaxing after work on winding roads near our home. It has been one of the best auto purchases I have made. It is fun to drive, is very responsive, with a strong and reliable V 6 engine. It has been garaged since new, and I was careful to avoid driving it on salt treated roads. The paint and finish are pristine, the interior very good. Leather seats have no cracks or splits.

There was no sales pressure or questions. We discussed only the car I was interested in. The person I talked to was considerate and did not take up a lot of my time. He was informative and polite. Yes, I felt that this was the kind of dealership I could trust.
Quick and nimble, babes love it with the top down!
Quick and nimble, sound system is bliss, 98 model all german made parts before the nasty Chrysler merger that saw quality decrease after the 99 models. Love this little thing!

Aaron sold my 1998 BMW Z-3 M convertible in November. They were able to get top dollar for my pampered low-miles classic. Coachella Valley Motorwerks focuses on specialty cars and Aaron is an expert on how to prepare the vehicle and to get it to the right markets to maximize your return.
Only owned for a country of days
I like the style, handling and performance of this vehicle. It is very satisfying to drive with the handling, followed by its appearance. The overall quality of the vehicle is obvious from the minute you get into it.

Easy and Smooth transaction. Car was in pristine condition. There wasn’t much haggling on the price, their adds are pretty decent compared to the other dealerships I went to.
Fun little second car!
The interior of this car is small. It makes getting in and out a little challenging sometimes. The 6 speed manual transmission is fun to drive and still has lots of power. We love this car, but it is not a winter car.

Milt Van Ravenswaay
Milt was very knowledgeable, not pushy, asked good questions, made many phone calls to find exactly the vehicle we were looking for. He was good about pointing out things that we may have been overlooking. I appreciated the friendly and professional service.
One of the most fun and easy to own cars
Most people see these early SLKs and think they are expensive to fix and hard to maintain. In reality, they are one of the most serviceable cars made. Almost everything is easily accessible and owner serviceable. Tons on videos and online articles exist to walk you through basic maintenance and common repairs. But you won't need that often as these cars are extremely reliable and will easily last past 200k miles. The paint is extremely durable and you'll find the oldest examples to still be glossy and without many paint chips. The interior is known to have issues with the paint wearing off the hard plastic surfaces, but touch-up paint is available to keep it looking tidy. Most of the first generation cars are well below $10k now with many excellent examples in the $4-5k range. Many are low mileage and in excellent shape, having been owned by those who only drove them on the weekends during fair weather. A lot of car for the money and a better investment than a Miata , Boxster, TT or Z3.

one of the most reliable cars i have owned.
A very fun car to drive and you miss it if you don't drive it almost every day. The car is the most reliable car I have had in many years. and was easy for me to do my own maintenance on. Bought this car when it had 100,000 miles on it. I have owned this car for 7 years.

This was my first visit to have service done on my new vehicle. I was pleasantly surprised. The ease of scheduling my appointment and how soon I was able to get my appointment online was comforting. Once I arrived everyone was friendly, especially Cole who checked me in, kept me informed through my visit and checked me out. He also helped me with a couple settings on my vehicle before I left. My visit gave me relief and peace of mind to bring my vehicle back for every service I need. Thank you!
Marvelous car
Excellent car. Roof is working perfect and the engine has all its power. Like brand new. It reaches 100 miles in a few seconds. The cruise control works as brand new.

Fun, reliable, supercharged, quick & good mpg!
The SLK is fun, solid, handles like a razor, yet has that "carved from granite" M-B quality feel. Elegant, though not showy - as a piece of history, the SLK is the first hardtop Mercedes convertible.

2004 SLK 230 Mercedes-Benz..Best have deep pockets
Bought this car 4 weeks ago, and have spent over $1400 on parts...almost all of them used parts on eBay, to repair some relatively small problems. NOT a good car for people over 6 feet tall. VERY limited legroom. Even with the seat all the way back, I am 6 ft. 1 inch, and unless I sit straight up in the seat, my knees rub the bottom of the lower dash panel. The other thing is, even if you know how to work on cars, be prepared for VERY expensive parts, even used ones. Forget about buying parts from the dealer...example...rear view mirror is over $500. A complete brake job is $1200 - $1500 dollars...$200 if you do it yourself. You will also need a few special tools to do a LOT of work...even changing the spark plugs. If a major repair is needed (example...the power convertible hard top mechanism...which has 12 micro switches, 6 hydraulic cylinders, plus the main hydraulic pump/motor) is a $2000-$3000 repair unless you do it yourself, which is NOT an easy job...and its not IF it will eventually fail, it WILL eventually fail. Need a new engine or transmission? Try $6000-$8000 EACH. May as well throw the car the car away...mine has a book value of $3000-$4000. Love the car though, but it loves my credit card. Great styling, typical German handling and performance, the best. Good luck if you buy one. Get an extended warranty. They are kind of expensive, but worth it for a major repair job that you cant do yourself.
