Used Subaru Outback for sale near Paramus, NJ under $30,000

I was looking for a used caravan, been looking for about 6 months and had one problem after another with other dealerships. Advertised price and then another $3,000 in fees!! I called Rivera Toyota and spoke with Joe, very friendly and helpful. I asked him what the price was on the car advertised, and he said the price show IS the price. No other fees, unless you want some of the additional services we offer. I told him if I am wasting my time I will throw you out of the window, JK. Next day took it out for a test drive, has two issues, nothing crazy, and was about to get off a few dollars. The price was the price and I did not have to hassle or get upset. Joseph was very helpful as well as his manager Bob. I was able to drive my new/used car that day home. I would definitely recommend coming here, for a used or new car. I bought used in 2023 a 2015 premium with 214k miles. I drove it 6k miles and only replaced the CV axle, this isn't impressive sounding but it was going through constant , aggressive off reading due to the rough road conditions I had to use because I live in the rocky mountains. I got in a rollover a 60 mph and I had no injuries, airbags kept me safe. Fuel economy was dismal with 21 in the city and 24 in the highway, safety and reliability are top tier, power was surprisingly adequate, the Bluetooth was appreciated and all the safety tech and other tech was very useable and helpful and accurate. Love the car would buy it again if I had the chance

Handles good. Wins safety awards, hope we never test that. We do like our 2015 better. My wife's sister's Tribeca kept them alive but was totaled. Can't seem to get the mileage it said on the sticker.

Slower than molasses in January if you don't get the turbo. But a reliable wagon that's absolutely awesome for parents. Plus, you can make up for the lack of speed by just running over stuff thanks to the ground clearance.

I think for the most part, I like my car. I have had a couple issues, one of them is probably not the cars fault, (but seeing other people have the same issue, it makes me wonder) I now have 50k miles on it and in that time I have only had to replace the battery and tires, to be expected on a 6 year old car. (and windshield) The windshield is the questionable item. It seemed to crack out of nowhere and I thought I must have gotten a small rock chip while driving down the highway and just didn't see it until it started to crack. So I replaced it at a cost of almost $1000. However, I am on an Outback form and it seems to be a common complaint with outback owners of this year, having the windshield crack out of nowhere. Could it be the frame design? Maybe, but it does seem suspicious that others have had the same issue. One other problem I have had is if I let my car sit unused for like 5 days, the battery goes completely dead. There seems to be a parasitic drain somewhere on the car. It doesn't happen if I drive it every day, but if it sits for about 5 days unused, the battery goes completely dead. I have read it has something to do with the DCS system in the car, but you have to pay the dealer a diagnostic fee to verify. I drive it enough I have not gotten it checked, but next time I am at the dealer I am going to ask them about it.

The experience we had buying our used Acura RDX was great! We love the car and Meghan was very efficient and helpful. She took her time to make sure we were comfortable and made everything easy for us.

I fell in love with the Wilderness Trim from the very first time i saw it. I had a 2017 Outback Limited and loved it too. Had a co-worker who really needed a reliable, well taken care of SUV. I told her I will sell it to her. With the money i got Wilderness. Best decision ever. Has that little extra ground clearance and details that makes this car so unique. Yes the screen is large and has a lot on it, but after a while got used to it. If the Outback was my dream car, This Wilderness is beyond my dreams! The Turbo is great, gives that extra +80HP compared to my Outback and it's noticeable specially when using paddle shifters. Hope i can keep this one for many many years.

So I bought a ‘21 Outback premium with 30k miles and have already put 6K more on it. Here is my honest review: if you want a fast car don’t get the 2.5 non turbo- that being said it is adequate for myself and get great gas mileage. The interior is good- I have the spec with cloth heated seats and they are comfortable and the cabin feels nice- has some cheap parts but I knew what I was buying. The infotainment is frustrating at times- auto start stop is a pain in the butt- but the infotainment itself isn’t bad with good sound and good responsiveness. The apple CarPlay will lag and be finicky at times but nothing terrible. As for drive quality it is a smooth ride and I don’t have any real complaints yet. Like I had mentioned if you want a car that is going to be fast- this engine and transmission will not do that for you. Overall I am happy so far with my purchase and feel as though I made a sensible decision when choosing this over some of its competition (I was looking at the VW Tiguan and and Mazda cx5)

Although I didn't buy a used car from Union Auto Sales, my experience dealing with the sales dept was good. I thought they represented the car fair without any "fluff"

This car is what I need for winter travel my girlfriend and I camp so it will accommodate us with that and it's fun to drive

Found a great car listed on Cars.com. Called to confirm that the vehicle was still available and was able to make an appointment to see it a few hours later with Anthony C. The buying process was straightforward, didn't have to play games. Anthony was knowledgeable and went out of his way to make us comfortable. We live quite far from the dealership but would be happy to go again if we needed.

I purchased this as a commuter car, but ended up taking it on long trips with the family. Currently has 65k miles. Interior is comfortable, the leather seats are easy to maintain. The infotainment system is great and easy to navigate. The only issue I had with it was the power lift gate. It was under warranty, so no big deal - but it would’ve been expensive had it not been. This is a great car for a family with small kids. The only reason I’m got rid of it is because my kids are growing and we needed something bigger. Routinely hit 23 not on highway. It’s got some pep, but you’re not buying it for sports car experience. AWD does very well off road and in snow. The exterior plastics are somewhat cheap and occasionally need to be set back in place. Otherwise, no mechanical issues and drives like the day I brought it. I’d recommend highly.

I have a tan 2005 Subaru Outback I got it 6 years ago for 6,000. now it’s at 178k miles. Did it really go up in value? or is this a brand new one? (Just had an issue - starter, replaced it - he said “clearly you take very good care of it, gonna in good shape for a long time now”)

I like mostly everything about my2021 Outback Limited XT. I hate the navigation system or the infotainment system as it is called. I have had it to the dealership 4 times in 3 years because the system is not compatible with my iPhone. Taking it in next week for a new radio. The navigation system stops working just when you need it most. Sometimes it flashes "Stay Alert" when you are looking straight ahead but if you turn the car off and restart, it goes away. Too bad Subaru doesn't make their own radio systems.

I love my new Subaru Forester! It has everything I need for a car... Working w/ Kyle was a great experience. He answered my questions, was very polite, honest and very patient w/ me from start to finish, considering I have hearing disability, he used texts to make sure I got all the informations I need. Even after I bought the car, he texted to follow up if everything is ok and to reach out if I have questions.. I admire his diligence at work.. and I'm pretty sure he'll make a good Manager.. Like the Turbo, hate the 10% less mpg. Short trips (2-4miles) and when it's cold only 16-19mpg. The rest of the year better. Hwy around 30mpg @71-74mph. I would recommend , I have a 2022XT only 18,500 miles on it. Yes the Info screen could use a lot of response improvement. Zero mechanical issues.

Our experience at Liberty Subaru was, from start to finish, quite fine. Our sales consultant, John Clarke was excellent, indeed. He provided thorough explanations of the various features of our new Forester. Thorough, clear and patient--never rushed or pushy. He didn't just explain the car's features; he took us to the car itself and demonstrated some of these features. For example, the connection to the navigation system. This was reassuring, given all the new technology in the 2025 Forester. It is clear that he is very knowledgeable about the car and because of that knowledge, seems to genuinely like it. A lot! He has an even and warm personality. It was such a pleasure to have him introduce us to our new car!

I am in my seventies and didn't want to buy new so i I looked at over twenty used vehicles during my search. This Subaru Outback was the best driving vehicle of all that I tried. Old school atmosphere....just the way it should be: Great customer service, knowledgable about the product, courteous and Honest with a capital H. Traded in my Honda, got a fair price and used it as a down payment on new Subaru. Best car by a mile I have ever owned. Top notch people. Actually, the best car dealership I have ever been to. Marc Debenedictis was one for the ages as the absolute best sales person anyone could ever hope to meet. A true professional in every sense and a man who truly cares. Turn signals do not have a loud sound. They are very low My 2016 Outback has nice loud turn signals. You cannot turn your radio off. The only way not to hear it is to put the sound real low. Two major complaints I have

I was especially impressed by the soft spoken, no pressure, highly informed gentleman Chris -who worked with me to get the exact deal that suit my needs best - The team felt like a family - each person was top notch in executing their part of the process - Each person was informed and personable. They even included a final celebration of purchase in the ringing of the bells with all who worked on the deal ! Such great touches included specific skills of the finance manager and a follow-up with the customer training expert - I entered with some concern and left with total confidence in the deal , in the car and in the personnel that exceeded all of my expectations!

We currently own the Outback 2024 XT, and it’s a great car to drive. However, its turbo CVT engine does produce a slight lag in acceleration and when slowing down. Just a matter of getting used to. Also had issue with the lift gate button, which broke after only two months in possession. My wife and I are in our 60s, and all our kids have their own families, so thank goodness we don’t have to drive those 8 seater SUVs anymore. This outback has been the best alternative for us.

The 2016 Subaru Outback is the first car I'd ever bought brand new, and I haven't been disappointed since it was purchased 7 years ago. It's very reliable, fun to drive, easy on gas, easy on maintenance and easy on the eyes. Will do it all over again when I make my next Subaru purchase!

As usual the Gregoris service department provided excellent service. All the service my 2021 Crosstrek Sport required was performed in a professional and timely fashion. An outstanding service and customer experience.

MY XT is the 12th Subaru Outback that I have owned in the last 30 years. It is safe and reliable. I have had no issues with the battery or the screen. I know how to shut off the annoying warning sounds and keep the car updated with the latest software. The headlight system is heads above the system in my 2017 Outback and gives me great sight lines down the road on dark highways. I get 28 to 32 miles to the gallon on the open highways and 25 to 27 in the city. I find the seats to be very supportive and comfortable. I have back issues and the seats in all of my Subarus have been great. I drive my Subarus into the 254,000+ range before I consider moving into another Subaru. They are a safe vehicle and we have had three totaled in accidents with only minor injuries. I like the safety of the eyesight unit and have had no issues with phone connecting in this car. I camp in it and haul up to 35 rabbits in their carriers to shows in state and out of state. I can keep the rabbits cool with the air while I stay warm with the heated seat and steering wheel.

Kate in the internet listened to what I wanted and found the car I wanted. Alex in sales was very helpful in closing the sales process and another Alex inn service went over the car's features in grat detail.

Car has an excellent ride. It is quiet. The comfort, interior quality is very good including leather seats. Fit and finish is very good. I enjoy the quality.

Went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Arrived a bit early for my appointment and they took me right away. And was I was on my way in a little over an hour. Thanks Rye Subaru.

2023 Subaru Outback Limited XT. A great station wagon (it’s not really a SUV). Comfortable leather seats, smooth ride and extremely quick with the turbo. If you don’t need seating for eight, you have no need for the Ascent. Same engine and cargo capacity and ground clearance, lower to the ground, faster, better handling and several thousand dollars cheaper. Standard all wheel drive. Full safety suite. 11.6” infotainment system is really closer to 8” as the climate control takes the additional 3.6”. The Harmon Kardon sound system will blow your doors off. Good in car navigation. Wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Hands free tailgate. 0-60 in 5.8 on regular gas. Standard roof rails. Even has heated outboard rear seats. If you’re considering a midsize or smaller SUV you owe it to yourself to drive this first.

Pleased with the service provided to me. Car was priced below market and the dealer provided me all the information on the vehicle. He also didnt charge me these crazy fees and even gave me an extended warranty at cost price.

We drove the car for 11 years & the only thing we did was change the oil/filter & replaced the tires. I believe there were three recalls. Two of which were air bags on the passenger side. Great vehicle with excellent mpg. One of the best cars that we've ever owned. We didn't purchase another one due to the tow capacity limit.

They forgot to replace my wipers. Front and back Everything else was good Let me know how it was going Facility was clean. Cashier was efficient.

22000 miles no problems ,,,rides really smooth,,much better than other brands i tested ,,,this is my 9th subaru and about to buy another one really soon ,,,and i forgot to mention go anywhere in the snow ,,,it's remarkable actually
