I bought this car new in 2008. I have nothing bad to say except the paint start flaking after about 5 years. I should have taken to dealer over paint issue. My car only has 65,000 miles and paint is completely gone. I am in the process of a new paint job. Seems my issue was the clear coat in the paint. I have owned 6 other Toyotas, all bought new. This is only 1 with this issue!

I have 212k miles and it still drives great and looks good. Only needed all the regular maintenance. Size is perfect. Love the back up camera and Bluetooth.

I live in Las Vegas. After being lowballed by multiple dealerships in Vegas, I decided to try my luck with selling my car privately. Omar from STG reached out and offered me the private party value for my vehicle, as a trade-in to STG. I've always loved the look and feel of a Toyota Highlander. But I never thought I could afford one. I found my Highlander at Alton Toyota, Alton, Il. and fell in love. I asked about the price and I couldn't believe it was right in my price range. I test drove it and it was love at first drive. Everyone from the Sales-person, finance and even the Technicians. were friendly, helpful and answered all my questions. They even went above and beyond making sure I got the best loan that fit me. I love my highlander and just got back from Myrtle Beach SC, driving round trip. It is so fun to drive and all the room is unbelievable. I traded in my 2016 RAV4 Limited for the Highlander XLE. Primarily for the ride. We had to give up some features such as seat positioning and closeness sensors available on the Rav4. The 2019 Highlander has a V6 that is well reported on and gives us the performance we need. Our ride has definitely improved on the Highlander.

We switched from 4Runner to Highlander! Many years of Toyota loyalty in our family. Camrys to Tacoma’s we have had them all. I stole my wife’s 4Runner away from her and replaced it with a 2021 Highlander XSE. It’s been awesome. Bought it brand new. We just hit 65k. We drive from northern Idaho to Scottsdale Az all year and at anytime. Yes, anytime. AWD Snowmobile. It’s awesome in the snow! 22-28 MPG on the Hwy. For those worried about driving a wagon looking vessel around that does not have the great looks of the 4Runner? Don’t worry about it. The XSE has a great looking front end. The XSE Model handles great and boogies. Yes, it’s quick and drives like a sports car. Well, it handles well not quite a sports car. Don’t get the regular Highlander. XSE looks different, has the JBL stereo and drives great. AWD with a Snow Mode. Oh, and it had a third row for little ones. Reliability - been amazing. Zero issues.

Overall very good and reliable vehicle for the money. Not the most comfortable, stylish, or best on fuel but for the price i dont think you can find better

Came on for a minor repair for my 2023 Chev Bolt, was presented with an offer on a 2025 Blzer I could not pass up.

We have owned our Highlander since about 42K miles, it now has 136k. The car has been wonderfully reliable and the batteries (now 16 years old) seem to still be working quite well. We get about 25mpg, maybe one or two less than when we first got it. While maybe not sexy, the first-gen Highlander Hybrid is a super well-engineered car. Our years in this tight, quiet, comfortable, spacious vehicle have been great. Biggest problem is we can't find a modern car we like enough to replace it!
