Own a 2014. Best bang for your buck for a 8 seater. I'm at 200k miles with just the usual oil changes and tires when needed. Only 1 downside to these cars are the markups from dealerships.

We have owned our 2012 Highlander Hybrid Limited for almost 12 years now. It consistently gets 28 mpg, which is STILL (12 years later) impressive for a mid-sized SUV. The car has taken us all over the US as a military family and has never disappointed. We now are living in WNC with lots of winding roads and the Highlander, although not a Porshe, Tesla, or Subaru WRX, performs amazingly well in turns. I would say that the only thing that is a slight negative are the two 3rd row seats: they are fine for a short drive or for small kids (under 70 lbs), but not made for adults or teenagers. We have only done regular maintenance (regular oil changes, tire changes about every 40k miles, and wiper blades about the same interval) to the vehicle and changed out the windshield once due to a rock thrown from a dump truck. This is an excellent vehicle and one of the most reliable gas or hybrid vehicles on the market today. I would not hesitate to buy another Highlander Hybrid.

2023 Highlander Hybrid greatly improved over the 2009 model. Over 37+ miles per gallon , smoother quieter ride than our 2009 which we enjoyed until finding how improved the 2023 models are plus the safety features.

I’ve been waiting to buy a Blazer for 8 years, and I am so excited about my purchase. We could not of had a better experience with John Elway Chevrolet. Daniel was the sales rep that helped us and he knew what vehicle was for me even before I did! We test drove a few vehicles, and Daniel was great about giving us space to discuss the options while still being available to answer any questions we had. I never felt overwhelmed with information. Tony helped us in the finance department and with this being my first vehicle purchase I was nervous I wouldn’t understand everything. However, he truly took time out of his evening to explain each detail / all of our options as far as warranty to make sure we understood everything we were signing and that we were satisfied with our decisions that worked within our budget. The trim package is XLE. This car replaced another XLE Hybrid model which did not have AWD. We mainly drive between Nebraska and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The AWD on this vehicle is great and kicks in without you even noticing it. The fuel mileage in the beginning was not great (29-32) due to trips made in the winter. Have not made a trip lately, but our current mileage is 42 with mostly hybrid type city driving (slow acceleration and coasting stops). There is an engine noise when accelerating which we did not have in our other hybrid, but our other vehicle is a truck, so it does not bother us. However, the generated noise while in reverse on only the electric engine is loud & annoying. One complaint is that the XLE trim is not standardized across Toyota models or within a model.

Unlike other dealerships where they are just trying to sell you something and you don't know if you can trust them, I didn't feel any pressure at Stapp. Grant didn't play any games. Bought a 2023 Highlander Hybrid, Limited. My first Toyota. Ride comfort is good, mileage is fantastic (35-38). Two things disappoint me. First, the wind noise...pretty bad. I’m hesitant to have the dealer touch it because they say nobody has complained about. If you search online, it is a known problem (the noise is TERRIBLE compared to my XT5). Secondly, the car seems chintzy. The exterior metal is tinny...again, compared to my XT5...just not nearly as solid. I would buy it again...I think Hybrids are the way to go. I’m just surprised how chintzy the car seems. I suppose the lack of insulation , etc is the trade off for the great mileage

This car has EVERYTHING! I would go camping & could lay in the back and watch dvds. It even has a traditional outlet in the back so you can use it for: a hairdryer, electric pump to blow up air mattress, a microwave, etc! You could live in this car if you wanted to! I hate to even part with it because i barely ever had to fill it with gas. Only selling it because someone gave me a new car. I’m sure you’ll love it too!

I was in need of a new car . The one i had was bought in 2005 but the year of the car is 2001. I wanted something a bit newer and affordable. I didn't catch the guy's name since my dad was the one who dealt with him first. No pressure at all. He was very helpful. I test drove the car and loved how it drove along with it's a big upgrade to what i had. So decided to buy it. I bought a 2012 Infiniti G25x, leather seats, AWD. front seat heaters, sun roof, backup camera, defrost on the side mirrors and it's a V6. I love it. I highly recommend buying a car here.

The gas mileage that we get on this nearly exceeds our previous hybrid sedan from 10 years ago. The safety features and overall ride make this an excellent choice for families. The 3rd row can be a little cramped for adults, but would be fine for kids. This went to replace an older Grand Cherokee, and for relatively the same size, it's much more loaded.

Top vehicle on the road. Comfort, style, economical, safety. Feels like I'm gliding not driving. Why would anyone not buy a Toyota hybrid to own?

I love this car. I have 200,000 miles on it and it runs like the day I bought it. Other than normal maintenance I have had no problems. I have not had to put brakes on this car yet and I just had it inspected.

Ordered a new limited in 2005. We still have it. It has been a great car and still in great condition with 250,000 miles. Looking to buy a new one and keep the 2006.

We wanted a vehicle that would be able to comfortably carry 6 passengers, but also didn't want a minivan. The highlander had the most amount of legroom. Also we are getting 32mpg with the hybrid model. We'll worth the fuel savings. Very smooth ride.

My wife had a smaller all wheel drive car from another company that drove me nuts trying to do the driving for me. It was a total hassle to turn it off every time you restarted the vehicle and I complained every time I drove it. Now with the highlander every time I drive it I comment how much I like it. Even considering a second one for my company car. By the way this is our first hybrid vehicle.

I've been waiting for years to find a car to replace my 2006 4Runner. I finally gave up on seeing a 4Runner redesign and decided I wanted something that was better for the environment. The Highlander hits the sweet spot for me. I've averaged 33 mpg overall since getting the car in late April. I saw an improvement in mpg once Summer gas became available. My best trip mpg has been 40 when driving from the Portland OR area to the coast. If you can keep speed in to 50 - 60 range, this car gets amazing mileage. I've been amazed at how often the gas engine is shut off and the car runs in EV mode. The transition is pretty seamless too. Disappointments: 1) My biggest gripe is that in order to switch the air flow to recirculating mode, you have to access a setting in a menu. I use this often when encountering dust or smoke, and it's much harder to switch via a menu than it would be with a mechanical switch. From the pictures I've seen, it appears that the 2023 model has resolved this issue. 2) The wireless phone charger is worthless. I'm lucky if my phone doesn't lose charge while on that charger! 3) My platinum model did NOT come with the digital rearview mirror. I really wanted this, but not sure how much I would use it as I wear glasses and the focal distance to the digital image is a bit too close unless I tilt my head back. 4) There are a lot of little rattles on rough roads... more than my 2006 4Runner had after 178k miles! 5) I'd like to be able to force the AWD system to be on under certain conditions. I barely made it to my friend's cabin due to the front wheels spinning in mud. 6) When the battery isn't fully charged and you downshift to slow down, the regenerative braking system should kick in but instead the engine is engaged. Overall I'm very happy with this car, but it could be better with some small changed. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could.
