We bought a used 2019 a month ago. I wasn't aware of these. As I researched a replacement for my wife's GMC Terrain, I learned about all of the bad CVT transmissions and oil burning engines in that class. Happened on a used Alltrack for sale at a dealer and as I researched the dsg transmission and looked up reviews - I was pretty excited by what I read. We have taken in on one 6-hour trip through the mountains and several 3-hour family visits. I love driving it. Probably my favorite car I have driven other than my old 2000 Volvo S70. It seems to be very well built. It is insanely quiet on the road and it has great acceleration. We travel with two kids and two dogs and it zips right up mountain passes, rarely cracking 3k rpm. I wish we had about 2 more inches in the trunk for our kennel, but it is a large space. I am anxious to try the AWD in some Montana snow this winter. Sadly its my wife's driver, but I get to drive it on trip!

From beginning to end, Scott was very professional and explained everything to the fullest, regarding cost, timeline and how my mechanical issue would be resolved. My car was fixed sooner, part came in earlier and my car was fixed !!!!

I drove a Golf TSI for years and absolutely loved it. Never wanted drive a different car as long as Iived. Then I had a kid(which is is tight with a golf) and someone pulled out in front of me and it got totalled. I took the money and upgraded to the Alltrack because its basically the same car with more room and AWD. Absolutely love it! Gas mileage is significantly lower than my Golf, but it still has some zip. The DSG transmission is like butter. Ill drive this car into the ground.

It's fun to drive, versatile with lots of storage space and has reasonably good gas mileage (36 hwy/24 city). It has an amazing turn radius. Somewhat noisy during highway driving and kind of deficient infotainment/safety features. But it's been reliable so far (100k miles). And did I mention fun to drive?

This is one of the best vehicles I’ve owned. As a big fan of wagons, there are very few options in America, and this is certainly the best value out there. There were only two trim levels available, which means the base S model is really well equipped (heated seats, CarPlay, etc.). It’s a shame VW discontinued this model!

Nice styling inside and out but the rear seat legroom is not made for a 6’1 person. Quiet and solid ride. Comfortable front seats. Roomy cargo area. Intuitive controls. Great handling and good acceleration. Just got the car so will have to report back on winter driving characteristics

I had great service from Jessica who got in touch with me soon after I looked at a 2018 Honda Civic online and she was very helpful in getting her guys to get the car ready for me to test drive. I own a 2017 Golf Alltrack SE and have maintained in accordance with scheduled maintenance in the manual. I love this car - it has "everything" that I need. Sure I'd love a bump in performance but it handles considerably well. I haven't had any issues with the car and have owned it for ~3 years now. It isn't "exciting" by any means but it is extremely versatile and comfortable to ride/drive. I'm very disappointed that VW has removed the wagon from the North American market - it gets the gas mileage of a sedan with many of the benefits of a small pickup truck. If they released a more powerful version of this car I'd almost be too tempted not to get one.

Bought car used in 2021 did the timing belt and water pump at 100 k due to leak replaced the infotainment screen due to flickering in 2022 . Replaced driver door handle due to malfunction with keyless system in 2022 ,do oil changes on the diesel at 5 k as opposed to factory 10k because I think it's a better choice for long-term use after you get used to the diesel quirks it gets great mileage and is super comfortable with the heated seats would buy another one on a minute

I did love the vibe at Williston Economy. I think the fact that they are family owned did help to that factor. Good service and fair prices!!

Love my Alltrack! While snug, it is a compact, its well oriented, and fun to drive. I have the sky roof option, and love it. Typical German engineering, simple on the frills, but great performance. Plenty of room in the trunk area for most anything. Visually a great looking car, inside and out. Outstanding gas mileage, and it'll even teach you to get the most out of it mileage wise.

Buying my new car was a relatively quick and painless experience which I appreciate. Tyson helped me when I first called and we saw the process to the end. The only thing that I will say about the dealership is that it is cramped, not a lot of space to park and cars are sort of crammed. As well as when I got my car, I was told it had been detailed, but there was still dust on the inside and the car mats were full of dirt in the trunk. I think I got what I wanted although the car had many scratches that I had overlooked.

Over all we love it. I have owned many VW's in my time. I was a bit sad to see them dumb some of the quality down in this model / year. For example the carpet is really cheap, not sure how well it will wear over time. The difference of quality between my 2012 Passat and this is noticeable for sure. However, the usability of the car itself really is great. Kids and great dane fit great.

Overall the car is good for commuting. The MPG is about 29-38 mpg averages. Takes 87-91 gas. The power is quick on start up but struggles at the higher speeds. MPG goes down of low 30s at faster freeway speeds. The car makes a weird mechanical noise at start up sounds like a vent or lever opening / closing and also another weird noise when the rear view camera opens and closes when put in reverse. I dash lights for air bag are always on in yellow and emergency lights in red. I cover with black tape case at night time these are annoying. The Day time light are always on which are annoying. It does cause a slight drain on battery and alternator. If you put your parking back on when stop the lights go off. Its a rough ride even with new tires. Its a low to ground so hard to get in and out of if your tall.

I've put 78,000 miles on my VW Alltrack and it's been a comfortable and reliable ride with enough turbo juice to make it fun around town and on the highway. It's done well off the pavement but nothing too crazy or rocky. The Alltrack was not the least bit challenged by a 40-inch snowfall in Flagstaff, Ariz., in Feb. 2019. I dug it it out and it performed flawlessly. My sixth VW and this one has been well worth the investment.

Purchased used S 5-speed manual with 33,000 miles on it about four years back. Just passed 100,000 miles last month. Only one problem so far, with the passenger door latch assembly. We get about 37 MPG mixed city and highway, and 45-50 MPG in interstate highway driving. FWD and snow tires work fine here in Wisconsin. The turbo motor and 5-speed provide all of the acceleration one will *actually* need, and also provide those great economy numbers. As part of the Golf platform, it's a solid car and the handling is good. The ride comfort is also good, maybe enhanced by the taller 16" tires on the S version. Simple controls, without an overly complicated radio / info system. Manual ventilation controls (knobs) are a huge plus. With the rear seats down, it has about the same cargo space as our 2009 Subaru Outback: little narrower but also a little longer. Good outward visibility. Driver seat can get a little tiring after a long drive (4 hours or more) but it's comparable with other highway vehicles we've owned. Reasonably quiet inside considering it's essentially an economy vehicle. A very nice economy vehicle, though. We like it enough that we're considering getting another one before there are no more good wagons in the market.

I love this car and I'm so happy that my European friend encouraged me to buy the TDI. It is the best car I've owned, great driving, over 50mpg on open road (lifetime average about 41mpg since I've been in-town a lot of the time). I've also received 1/3 of my purchase cost back in restitution for VW! Turned out to be a great investment, and I'm incredibly appreciative that I kept it. Very smooth, enjoyable 6-speed manual. I've done the little maintenance required since out of (original) warranty, although now I've got years/100k miles on my emissions/motors/etc...since the emissions fix. The back hatch stopped working a few weeks ago. I got a replacement from VW for $65 (I think it's $105 retail). Took minutes to install. Replaced the battery earlier this year. Replaced the original (Continental) tires about 18 months ago with better Pirellis. Nothing else aside from all scheduled maintenance. It runs and feels exactly as it did new. If I didn't get hit with a chunk of bouncing concrete on the freeway, or fall victim to idiots who failed to parallel park behind me (yes, the rear driver's-side has been scraped 3 or 4 times, and always when I was not in the car), this car would be clean as new inside and out. The black paint shows tiny chips and all that, but it still looks great. Beautifully designed, efficient interior. Leatherette is fantastic, and given the choice, I would have chosen it over real leather (there was no choice this model year). Great car and I hope to keep it for a very long time.

This car is amazing. I bought it at the end of Feb 2021 for $11,000. That was about 4-6 weeks before the price of used cars skyrocketed. The first time i took it to a mechanic for some scheduled maintenance i found out that i have a “Unicorn.” It is quick and handles like a dream. I love that i don’t have to fuel it up as much as the gasoline version. The six speed manual transmission is amazing. A fun fact about this car is that it isn’t actually a Jetta. It’s a Golf. My manual 6 speeed TDI sportwagen is the most fun car i have ever owned.

This car drives like a sports car. I know; I own a Cayman. This car has accompanied us on every vacation and has never lets us down. No problems!

Love this car. It’s drives well. I have owned for two years and it’s very reliable and affordable to maintain. It’s always fun to drive. Great cargo room. Great stereo and audio features. Great gas mileage. I really really love it. Best car ever. I have had outback’s, Prius, accords, civics, and carollos and this car is the best. So happy with it. I am waiting for a new fresher model to come out but not in a rush.

This was my first new car purchase and it has been wonderful- approaching a full year of ownership now. Highs - Manual transmission is a joy - Handles well but ride is not jarring - Thus far, reliability has been great - Has handled snow/Maine weather with aplomb. Put snow tires on it and it will blow your mind. - Fuel economy for a four wheel drive vehicle isn't bad, especially not requiring premium - Interior fit and finish is awesome - Big trunk, ski hole is standard - Roof rack works great - Waaaaay cheaper than anything else (Subarus that blow up in your face...) Not plusses - The crummy All-Season (No-Season) tires it came with. Promptly bought new wheels and slapped some 235's on there. Looks 10x better, handles 5x better. Its amazing what a difference it makes. - I'm supporting a lying, cheating, sleezeball company. Oh well- I'll do what it takes for a manual. - Wish it had active safety features. 2019 remedied it. Honestly after five years of winter beaters and DIY repair work all the time it is so nice to have a reliable and comfortable car that I trust. Hope to have it many years to come- or until they announce they are discontinuing the manual and then I'm snapping one up right away.
