This my second Toyota Corolla hatchback se. Best car in gas mileage and reliable and safety features love for myself and for my kids. We are all in Toyota!!

I owned a 2020 Corolla Hatchback 6 Speed Manual for 18 months and it was one of the best cars I’ve ever owned. It is easily one of the best looking Corollas ever made and one of the best looking affordable cars on the market today. You can’t go wrong with this car in terms of reliability, comfort, or affordability; it’s a Toyota it will last longer than expected every time. While the interior is definitely simple it comes with the territory of a small affordable car. I can’t speak for the automatic, but the manual was smooth and honestly made the car fun to drive. I would highly recommend this car and I am sad that they discontinued the manual for the 2.0l FWD hatchback. I would buy a new one tomorrow if it were still available. The only reason I sold mine is because at the time I was able to make a profit. Currently on the hunt for a used manual model.

I loved my Prius-C. Zero issues for 10 years. It had too many things wrong after 10 years, so I decided to get a new car. I settled in the Corolla Hatchback. I’ll start by saying it performs well, however my issues with its excessive alerts, beeps, and fragile interior have outweighed how the vehicle performs. If you get out of the car while it’s running and close the door, it beeps 8 times for each door closing. If you have something large and need to tie down the trunk, it beeps for the entire ride. If two people sit in the back seat and they buckle their seatbelt, the middle buckle alert will go off for no reason. The vehicle beeps if it’s cold outside. Some alerts like the reverse sensor and door ajar warnings seem reasonable, but the vehicle beeps excessively. Cruise control is somewhat difficult to set as you have to scroll through settings, and it rarely keeps the exact speed it’s set at. Being a little picky with that, but still, it’s kind of an annoying inconvenience. Apple CarPlay also fails frequently so you have to stop and restart the car to get it back. There is no standard navigation installed. If I didn’t have Apple CarPlay and Googlemaps, I wouldn’t even have a navigation system. The rear doors have no weight and are awkward to open and close. Repeatedly it “feels” like the door doesn’t close, so I’ll open and shut it again. The interior of this car is extremely fragile. The plastic fork from a Swiffer duster left permanent marks across my brand new dashboard. You read that correctly: the plastic forks from a Swiffer duster left permanent scratches on my dashboard. Several subtle bumps, dents, and scrapes have resulted in a terribly worn looking, scratched up door and dashboard. The vehicle is one year old. It’s definitely going to be in horrible condition in 2-3 years. So, yes, the car performs well, but what’s happening with the inside and the electronics outweigh performance for me.
