Well-optioned, clean Carfax, and only two owners since new! This has been our internal project car, which we have enjoyed working on and refining to be an excellent driver. It is one of, if not the only, E31 840Ci on the market you can get in, turn the key, and drive with just basic maintenance for the foreseeable future. We spared no expense performing over $28K in pre-sale improvements! Please read the full list of work performed under Value-Added Improvements below. Thanks to the extensive work, including a full suspension refresh, it drives similarly to how a new one wouldif BMW still made this iconic E31 generation. Don't miss our detailed video that gives you an in-depth look at this 840Ci! This particular 840Ci is powered by an M62 4.4L V8 engine that produces 282 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. It is extremely important to know that this BMW has the [961] Special Engine build code, meaning it has Alusil cylinder liners and not the bore-scoring-prone Nikasil-coated cylinder liners that the M60 E31s have. Bore scoring causes running issues, including loss of compression, oil burning, and ultimately requires an engine replacement or rebuild. Since this 840Ci has the Alusil M62 engine, you can sleep easily at night knowing you'll have a long-lasting engine that is not affected by these issues. The E31 8-Series is a very rare vehicle in the United States. BMW sold only 6,920 E31 8-Series in total (all trims included) in the US market, and this particular example is one of only 3,075 840Ci's with the M62 V8 engine worldwide. The most beautiful car I ever owned

This car is so nice to drive in town or the highway. The timeless design makes it one of the most desirable cars in it's class. Smooth and powerful V8 engine, silky smooth and responsive Steptronic auto transmission. It would be a steal under $30 grand. With low mileage a price tag of $22,500 it's a real bargain.

This is a sleeper collectible. BWM is coming out with a new 8 Series for 2018 which should make the older 8's rise in value.
