Do your homework and research the vehicle of your choice.
Do your homework and research the vehicle of your choice. I bought the escape used in 2024. So far, no recalls and it was a great buy, and I love it. I have the 2.0 turbo 240 horsepower. I use premium gas, full synthetic oil and change the transmission fluid every 30 thousand miles. I also read that once you get to your destination, let the car idle for 10 seconds so the turbo has time to rid any excess output. - Purchased a Used car

We bought our 2016 Ford Escape new in 2015.
We bought our 2016 Ford Escape new in 2015. it has been a great vehicle and trouble free the entire time.We currently have approximately 155000 miles on the vehicle and would certainly buy another Escape. It still looks and runs as new and everyone thinks it's a new car even now. - Does recommend this car

Bad transmission trouble in 2016 Ford Escape.
The transmission has gone out 2x on my 2016 Ford Escape. Not even 100,000 miles yet. First went out at 80,000 miles. Ford will not help. This vehicle has been well maintained with maintenance. I’ll never buy another Ford. - Purchased a New car

Happily Suprised
Purchased this used 2016 Ford Escape SE Ecoboost 4WD (108k miles) from our local Lithia Ford dealer, and I commute 64 miles a day from home to work, and so far I am very impressed. the little 1.6 liter engine has a big heart, and a fun amount of power. The seats are high quality, and the best my wife & I have encountered so far (we rent a lot of cars from Enterprise). Handles great, and feels like a bigger car. The only cons so far : High beam switch takes getting used too. From steering wheel to display touch screen, the wiper control arm is always in the way, turning on wipers. Can't wait for winter to try out 4wd :) - Purchased a Used car

Investment, Investagte before purchasing a car.
Due to things noted when brought to the attention of the Darling Ford they said nothing was wrong. ON recall car came back with computer set back to date of manufacture of 2015 when contacted they said they never touch anything that would set it back.Funny because it was fine till they touched it. This vehicle is very well maintained. Then lost transmission after they fixed a recall on the shifter cable. Had a brand new one put in.And the computer went back to the same year and date of production. So was sent to Heights in Skowhegan to reset the computers and they could not fugure it out after 6 grand it still messes up but no one can fix it.Since things got costly and this car is on excellent shape I would recommend looking for a vehicle that stands behind work and maintenance. I like the car but can not see this much hoing wrong when its neve hardly being used. Plus if you read the reviews and complaints on different pages its the same thing with others people are having. When your a senior citizens I do not think business gives a care. - Purchased a New car

This car is just not fun. Made in mexico.
2016 value went down to 11k. Seats are not good for long trips. AC works good. Not a fan of the stereo. Like the front view windshield. - Purchased a New car

My baby!
I bought my escape October 2021. I have put about 30k miles on it and now sits at 110k. I’m 6’3” and I have plenty of head room. Auto parallel parking comes in handy way more than expected. 2.0 engine has a smooth ride and good on gas - Purchased a Used car

Crappy car!
I bought my 2016 Ford escape used with 89,000 mi on it from a Ford dealership. Within months it needed the power steering fixed and that cost me $2,700. Now my headlights have gone out and I don't know why and I have a blown head gasket and my car is at 104,000 mi. It is also had two recalls on it.This is not a very reliable car and it cost way too much to fix anything that goes wrong with it. It is not worth buying! I still owe $6,000 on this car and wish I had never bought it!!!!! - Purchased a Used car

Get an extended warranty
Replaced the flex plate, AKA flywheel, 3 times in last 3 years, first time under warranty, second time cost $1,700. Third time under replacement's warranty. Transmission replaced 2 months after second flex plate at $7,000. Has 72,000 miles. Nice car to drive when it works if you have money for repairs or know a good mechanic. - Purchased a Used car

Don't Buy if you want piece of mind long term
So many issues with recalls on major components (4x4 system) that do not have updates, replace for the same part and wait 60,000km before it fails again. now i am left with a car that is out of warranty and afield drivetrain, dealer only repair due to programming and $3800 for them to do. Service was terrible from local dealer. - Purchased a New car
