I'm the second owner of the vehicle. The vehicle was originally purchased by someone in the armed forces that was stationed in Germany. He bought the car over there as a US spec and had it transfered to his home in Phoenix when he came back. I purchased it from him in 2014, and the car had 49,000 miles. The warranty went through 50k miles so we took it to the dealership to look it over before buying it. Everything was good on it. That owner had the car religiously serviced at every suggested milage and the owners manual signed off for it. I continued getting the manual signed at the dealership through ~75k miles but have continued getting the recommended service at every suggested milage and have the paperwork for all. The original clutch was replaced at 150k miles. A headlight wiring harness went bad and I replaced the entire headlight assembly (wish I would have known it was just the harness it would have saved me a lot of money). At around 160k miles the breather valve was replaced. No other major issues and the car runs great. There are some exterior scratches and dings that are shown in the pictures. Also the right side skirt is missing. I am looking at getting it fixed and if requested by purchaser I will do it for an additional $950 (that is the price of the quote). Driver side rear scratches behind the rear doors Driver side front quarter panel dent (edit 7/13/25) Passanger side dent and scratch above right rear brake light Paint blemishes on hood Screw holes on front bumper from license plate bracket Overall the car is in amazing shape and has been driven with care. I love the car but have outgrown it unfortunately and also need an automatic so other people can drive my car when needed. It's been amazing to me and I hope to pass it on to someone who will enjoy it as I did. Other notes: Has heated seats Driver side powered seats Spare never used but is in the trunk Rear windows are tinted ~20%. Originally owner did this and I never got the fronts tinted

Owns this car

great looking, fast, and super reliable car that doesn't attract too much attention. It handles amazingly in snow. We averaged 25 mpg. Fits into small parking spaces.

I like the size and style of this smaller Volvo. I wished this this style was still being made. The servicing of this car has been excellent.

Owns this car

The Volvo S40 just seems to have everything it needs. It is comfortable, easy to drive, zippy, looks great and has all the right bells and whistles. What more could I need? A long run!! Say a couple hundred thousand miles? Dependability!
