2014 Focus SE Hatchback bought in 2016 with 7500 miles.
2014 Focus SE Hatchback bought in 2016 with 7500 miles. Its currently 2025 and 113k miles. The only repair issue was the TCM failure at 90k. I had to wait 3 weeks for the part to come in all the while unable to drive my only vehicle. Only other problem with this car is the heat shields have fallen loose and rattle. I have thought about replacing this car several times over the past 3 years. I've test driven many similar cars and haven't found any that drive much better. So I keep driving this car. - Purchased a Used car

Bought the vehicle after Ford replaced the transmission
Bought the vehicle after Ford replaced the transmission due to the known transmission issue with these and it has worked like a dream. I cannot recommend this car enough. It has been reliable, dependable and easy to maintain. - Does recommend this car

don't every buy a ford especially this 2014 Ford Focus
don't every buy a ford especially this 2014 Ford Focus the transmissions were faulty and ford knew before they were sold and Ford motor company and there dealers conspired to see the cars anyways. I purchased the 2014 Ford Focus and have had transmission problems for years and now it has shut down completely and Ford will not take care of this and I only have 78000 miles it should not have any of these problems. if you see this cars run away fast they are nothing but crap - Does not recommend this car

Worst car I ever had Ford focus hatchback 2014
I bought my car six years ago with 27,000 miles on it. I have 66,000 miles on it after 10 years of ownership. I have spent thousands of dollars on repairs for this car a new windshield wiper motor a new horn a new water pump transmission work twice, driving down the road one day the whole piece under the side door fell off. This is my first Ford and I’ll never own another one. - Purchased a Used car

A lemon car that is worthless for me to try to sel
It was sold with a known defect in transmission had it fixed and free 7 months later transmission shutter did 2 more times almost 10 years still a issue with no more free repairs, out of pocket cost at my dealer 2100.00 not much lower than Kelly BB. I'm trying to do a private sale imagine having to tell them a Ford with a transmission shutter that's unfixable to stop the issue forever. Does Ford want to buy it from me? I'm 78 so could use the cash make me a offer. - Purchased a New car

Unavailable TCM part
After totaling my 20212 Chevy Cruze, I wanted a similar car. I found a Focus in a pretty turquoise color and purchased it in Sep. 2022. It was a 2014 with only 51,000 miles, light rust by the back doors but nothing detrimental. Drove it around for 11 months with no issue. The backseats were pretty small, with very limited leg room. Having to talk to the car with SYNC would get annoying, but I got used to it. Passed inspection with flying colors in June 2023. Then one morning in August, my check engine light turned on, and the car wouldn't go over 30, erratic shifting. A day later, I got the "warranty" letter in the mail for my TCM in the mail. It breaks down on me fully a week later, wait 2 weeks for an appointment, finally goes in, and it's the TCM. Yay! But no, the part is on backorder indefinitely. The dealership just says get a new car. Looked around for a few weeks for the part, after-market, new, reconditioned, anything. Unavailable EVERYWHERE. Im working full time and need a car, so I'm getting a new one. But it's just so frustrating as I didn't even have the car for a year, and have to roll over 8k+ into a new car loan. This is a FORD problem and it needs to be figured out. If you plan on buying one, you might as well order a TCM at the same time. it MIGHT come in by the time you need it. Who knows. - Purchased a Used car

Reliable
I like the looks and feel of this car , some Police departments use it , that says good things. Some people complain about the transmission of certain models but Ford has extended the warranty on them to 10 years - Purchased a Used car

FORD focus hatchback total lemon cars
xxxx car surges due to their faulty transmissions. Don't pull out in front of somebody unless there a half mile off from you. Somebody will die because of fords negligence. If it happens with mine, you better believe there will be a lawsuit against Ford Motor Company. Most unreliable and uncomfortable car Ford has ever built. They refuse to admit there is a problem with the focus transmission. Will never purchase another Ford product. Ford you suck. - Purchased a Used car

2014 focus problem trans. This car has issues and
When I bought my focus I loved it . It's a great handling car .good, roomy, gas mileage good. Then I found out about the reason people talk about these 2014 focuses. Never buy a focus without knowing their closest secrets on the vehicle cause I'm sure they see us coming and they don't give a dam about us, the costumer!! I've been making payments since 2019 and over the recent few years I've been without a car. First it had something shorting a wire down under by trans. Then TCM had to be replaced took ford here 70plus days to get that part Then had to replace motor another 100 days no car. Now it's the over charged clutch replacement and another5 months no car. I can't get any assistance nor a break from ford and this is the last time I go local to this ford dealer. Never been so disregarded nor had this much trouble with past 4 ford purchases in recent years. In fact I don't have anything nice to say about them . Did I mention the same transmission on their newer focus actually has been recalled? Way to go ford!!! To little to late!! - Purchased a Used car
