The gray front bumpers do not scratch easily and that is good especially for a young driver. Versatile, can tow well, good family car, good space, not too large but not small, quirky design, great on the highway, and can take it almost anywhere u want especially with a 4WD. I have a 2WD but I still take it anywhere down dirt roads and up mountain gravel roads. Such a unique vehicle and it’s tough as nails. It accelerates well especially for the time it was made. Nothing fancy but it’s purely durable inside and out. It is a SUV on a truck frame with a large V6 engine so all the people complaining about gas mileage are quite frankly ignorant because they must have expected something different. - Purchased a Used car

Not perfect, but pretty close
First off, the features which I think could use improvement include: 1) The front seats are rather hard and get somewhat uncomfortable after 100-150 miles. They are fine for short trips, but when taking the car on a long voyage, be prepared to stop every couple of hours. 2) The visibility could be better. The pillars behind both sets of doors are quite wide which gives less visibility when looking out of the vehicle. This is also true for the rear corners. 3) Getting in and out of the rear seat is somewhat awkward for adults. This can be made a little better with running boards or similar outside "steps". Other than these rather minor flaws, this is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. Reliability is awesome. Acceleration is more than adequate. It will cruise at 90 mph all day long without breaking a sweat. It does an excellent job of towing; I pulled a 32' Airstream behind mine with no problems. It does ride more like a truck than a passenger car, but thats because it really is a truck. mine has 225k on it, and the only parts I have had to replace were all 4 shocks, but I live down an extremely bumpy dirt road, so that was expected. The 4 wheel drive is very good; I've had mine in both mud and sand and have yet to get it stuck. Plus, it has plenty enough torque to pull out others who did get stuck. Overall, I would say that this is a xxxx fine vehicle. - Purchased a Used car

Never got stuck in the snow or flood waters. Great ground clearance!! Reliable, Durable. Needed a rear camera though. Hoping for the 2021 New design. - Purchased a New car

Unreliable
Had to replace the clutch twice on my dime (over $2,000 each time) and the transmission (paid for by extended warranty). When the dealer replaced the first clutch they poked a hole in my oil pan and refused to pay for the damage. - Purchased a New car

Good clearance, other than that pretty frustrating
Since the day I got it, the interior door panels have fallen off and rattle with every little motion because of the retaining clips being too short. I don’t like the traction control, and the off option doesn’t do anything. Needs to be put into 4wd as soon as the road is wet because it slips at go. Not to mention the terrible gas mileage. Has not developed any big issues over the past 5 years, however. I’d say it is a reliable machine, as long as you don’t expect too much. Very frustrating when used to a Jeep or Subaru. - Purchased a Used car

We LOVE our Xterra
Not sure why they quit making Xterras. Just bought a 2014 with 63,000 miles on it. We LOVE this car. Comfy but definitely feels like the truck we wanted. Leather seats, lots of power, ample space and good looks. I would define this car as a cast iron pan on wheels. Gets the job done, holds up, and feels great to boot. I hope to be driving this car ten years from now! - Purchased a Used car

I?ve own a Jeep XJ, Rodeo, Patriot, Armada, Camry, 4runner, and 3 XTERRAS. Nissan Xterra is the best bang for your buck when combining all factors. - Purchased a New car

2015 Nissan Xterra
I've owned '04 Xterra and absolutely no problems with the engine, transmission or body. This 2015 Xterra handles like the previous vehicle with slight differences and the upgrades are fantastic like auto lock and additional glove box. The gas milage is the same and that can be expensive in city driving however highway is a lot better. I do not like the tall headrests in the back seat and the fact that I have to manually unlock the car in order to open the door; if you take out the key, it will automatically unlock the doors, however the doors will not open if you use the handle. - Purchased a Used car
