Dont buy! Catalytic converter stolen 2x with guard
I am the original owner. 135,000 miles on it. I have loved this car since I bought it. However, I will NEVER buy another Toyota. Twice my cat converter was stolen. The second time was after I spent $1,600 for 4 different security treatments. In CA you have to buy cc new from Toyota. Toyota is making a fortune by selling 100,000 of cat converters when they could have simply relocated the Cat converter in a redesign. No discounts on cc. It's $3,000 parts & labor.

Red Triangle of Death!!
To original thread owner. The red triangle is known as “the red triangle of death” in Prius circles. It means your hybrid electrical battery is dead. It needs to be replaced at the cost of approx $4000. Do NOT buy cheap OEM batteries because I know for a fact from foreman at Toyota, whom is an acquaintance, that they last a few months and then u r out that $1500. Toyota battery is about $2500 plus labor. It was $600 labor at my dealer last month. Plus taxes. I just had mine replaced early November 2022. My ECU, the brains of the battery, was fried and needed replacement for another $1400. Fun times. But car runs great and should make a long time running. Original battery warranties 150,000 miles. Replacement, which is all new parts, only warranties like all parts at 1 yea. But technically should last 100,000+ miles. New Prius ranges $8,000-$30,000. Good luck.
